I read somewhere that if Bailey didn't sign, then the Isles were leaning on keeping Strome for the season ...
Well Bailey signed http://espn.go.com/new-york/nhl/stor...rs-source-says so ... no guaranteees of course ... but it looks better than it did yesterday for the Dogs. AND Boy of Boy do we need some of the draftees back or it's going to be a long season !! Pacan released yesterday ... Freddie as one of the 3 19 year olds for SJSharks (over 25 forwards in camp) ... time will tell. ![]() ![]() ![]()

With no Visetin in net, our D really got exposed last night. I have never been a Rover fan but thought after I read the article he was in Marty's plans as a defensive D. So where was he? Horrible play by all D. I would put Bennett back on the blue line in a second and #11 in the stands.
Really miss the fire power of our forwards. Nice to see some of the kids get a chance at some quality minutes. Shame they could not have put a couple of pucks in the net. Bring on the regular season. Marty should be able to see our holes. We have lots of potential to trade. Get what we need and let's win this thing! |

Glad thats it for the exhibition season here in St. Kitts. No power play to speak of in last nights game. No down and dirty goals to be had. Need the finishers back.

I asked the opinion of Islanders fans.. this was the response.
"Bailey signing reduces it greatly, that being said I am guessing one of Nino or Strome makes it and bigger chance it's Nino(85-15). At this point I don't think Strome will even get a 9 game tryout because the Islanders roster will be at it's 23 player limit between Gilles and having an extra Goalie" "I dont think he makes it.....Were not desperate like we were with Josh Bailey in 2008. He will develope properly and go back to Juniors......" "He'll be coming back to Niagra. He showed off his talent quite impressively during the rookie games, but he'll be physically overmatched in the NHL at this point. He's at least a year and probably 2 away." |

I was on their sight too and saw your question and their responses. Good job. The overall consensus seemed to be that they love his talent, but we'll be lucky enough to have him back for another season, so he can develop in Niagara and on the Canadian Junior team. Strome is the biggest question mark - hope he's back. If we can have all our Dogs back, the cup run is on!

Strome should be in the line-up tonight for the Isles vs Flames game on TSN tonight.

RoD Mawhood did an interview with Ryan today. It's on the IceDogs website. What a great kid. Made some really nice comments about Niagara and IceDogs fans.

I was watching the Flames/Isles game the other night, and Ryan did not look out of place. I really hope Isles send him back!!
No doubt in my mind that this year has got to be the year the Dogs win it all. This year is their chance. ![]() |

I thought he looked out of place ...The second Flames goal was his man and he missed the coverage. ( too slow ) . He'll be back soon IMO .
