Interesting...I hate the Islanders! Play him or send him back! Play the kid, see if he has the goods, if you're not going to do that let him play where he can apply what he has learned...what a bunch of !!!!

How many games has Strome actually played in this entire season so far? My count is 4 - all exhibition, 1 with the Dogs before NHL camp and 3 with the Isles. My kid has played more games than this already and he's only 9 yrs old. I'm at a loss to understand how keeping him around for the "NHL Experience" with no intention of playing him is of any value. "Just hang out in the locker room kid and suck up the ambiance, maybe some of it will stick and make you a better hockey player, oh but we're not going to let you try out anything you might learn in a real game though -let us know if it works so we can run it up the pole that the Islanders were the first to envision this unique concept."

Well he is certainly practising with them daily, and probably working out with their strength and conditioning staff....but I definitely agree. If he is not going to play in games I see little benefit in him staying.

I wonder, does he get paid for this time he is up there? I am guessing that he only gets paid when he plays in an actual game, but I could be wrong. Perhaps he gets paid for days on the NHL roster?

He gets paid every day he is on the roster and counts against the cap.

It sounds like once they signed him to that 3 year deal, and they're paying him, their doing what ever they feel like with him. Couldn't care less about his Jr. team.
