Not very often a team is going to trade a young decent player with upside and picks for an OA at the deadline.
I don't want an earth shatteringly good return I would just rather get a younger player or players back instead of picks that you hope works out for you whenever that pick is

Is there a chance they will just keep Mantha even though he will have no value after this season?

We have a team full of young players and Mantha is just crucial to team's performance and also it's development, having Mantha in D gives all those young guys opportinity to play solid offence and possibly more confidence, it actually allows them to develop offensivelly which they couuld not if D is weak. Just thinking that keeping him is actually a part of serious development of orher players.

Maybe it is just a non sense but maybe not?

You have very good points on Mantha.
Coach Bell has stated in interviews how important on and off the ice (especially) for the team that is bonding together.
They just might just keep him and only trade Haydon. And maybe Corneil?

I think it would honestly depend on Haydon if he goes mantha stays if Haydon stays mantha will probably go and Haydon moves back on D to take manthas spot

I just think they need to move him for the long term good of the team. Erie looks next to unstoppable unless a another teams makes some bold moves which I'm sure they will. With the OHL hosting this year the return will likely be too substantial to turn down IMO. The east is wide open and Windsor and London are both likely going to step up and make a run at Erie.

I don't think Erie is that unstoppable for most teams in the west and maybe two teams in the east. What do you think they can get in return for mantha?

You'd have to think something similar to what they gave up for Harper. 2, 2nds, a 3rd and a 5th. Perhaps more. He's probably the top d-man available.

I'm in with those picks, especially if they are in the next year or two.
