Make it the permanent display for hockey. Then rotate out different sports each year with a 1/4 of the space.

Thank you for an awesome suggestion !

Default Meridian Centre Hall of Fame

Remember, Meridian Centre is owned by the City of St. Catharines (thank god for that). It is a multi functional Community building. Ie: concerts, backsetball and yes, even your beloved Ice Dogs have the right to play their first.

Actually, there are designs for a Rowing Hall of Fame at the world famous Canadian Henley Martindal Pond, just fund raising and making awareness right now.

Ice Dogs have only been here for ten years, the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta has been here for 135. Think about that for a moment.

I will think about it.

#whocares that rowing has been around here for 135 years IMHO

I had a friend here from out of town and he found it very bizarre and kinda comical that there was a rowing display in a hockey arena.

I tend to agree

Let's hope they get funding, build a proper display at an appropriate venue and get it out of there ...

You would think so too ... must not be all that important I suppose lol

See now that there is your problem, you never really say what you mean and people are always trying to guess what strohs is thinking.

This is what happens when there are too many days between hockey games - people care about the weirdest things! There is enough room at the MC for all sports including rowing and if it's not your cup of tea, who cares, watch the game. I was on the rowing team....................yes, coxswain.

Good idea!

The St. Catharines Sports Hall of Fame never had a permanent home until the Meridian Centre was built and financial donations were made by David Howes and the Fallsview Casino.

So now that it does have a home, the city should actually build one!

If it has a home why should the city build one? By my math 1+1=2 does it need 2 homes? Like if it misbehaves and Mrs Hall of Fame kicks him out he can still go to the second home???

The rowing exhibit was being worked on at the beginning of the season and didn't open until late November of this season so it has only been on exhibition for four months (November 19th it was opened).
