Early thoughts on this, seven games in ...

So I haven’t seen North Bay yet, but looking at the standings.
, they appear to be dreadful.

First hand viewing of Kingston last night, boy were they bad.

Niagara’s goaltending has been way better than I could have imagined. Even the team has been better than I thought they would be.

We will have difficulties once Thomas, Roberts, maybe Sopa? are traded at the deadline, however, based on how bad NB and Kingston appear to be this team, it looks like our playoff streak is safe, lol

I completely agree with this.

I can handle Thomas or Roberts being traded. Sopa is a joy to watch, I hope he stays. Speaking of that, wouldn't the fact that we have another Swiss player make them want to keep Sopa here? It could be that Sopa has stepped up his game because he now has a team mate with shared experiences and language(s). He is more comfortable now.

I don't know, just guessing there.

I completely agree with your thoughts on Sopa

I also would trade Thomas for a bundle of picks and a round one player from this year's draft.
I am not sure if anyone would want Roberts but it sure would be nice to recoup the two 2nd's that he cost us.

Ya this is a puzzling one for me

Usually imports on contending teams are elite level, bigger name players ... Sopa has been elite but isn’t a ‘big name’ player ...

I kinda hope they keep him even if it would mean having an OA import next year ... but if you look at our OA next year ... well ... it’s bleak to say the least. At least by keeping him we wouldn’t have to overpay to bring in OA’s next year ...

Oh well if he keeps up this level of play some contending team has gotta come knocking for him.

Aren't most of the imports kids who already have a connection to North America. Like the parents were Canadian athletes who moved to Europe or they lived in North America or have family in North America.
