The cost for Sherwood would most likely be higher than anyone here would want to pay.
Sherwood would be a good fit to a contenting team, if Flint would consider moving him.
Ice Dogs might use the same approach as last year wait to acquire the player that a contending team needs to trade - after they make their trade for an elite OA. Justin Brack was a nice inexpensive pickup!

It's curious though that their feelings getting hurt would prompt them to take a sub-optimal approach. The other alternative is a lack of confidence in the coaching in Niagara.

However, looking back at the past 10.1 years, the Ice Dogs could make a case for themselves - with Alex Pietrangelo, Dougie Hamilton and now Vince Dunn in the NHL.

Unless, I'm missing someone (?) Olli Maatta, Nikita Zadorov and for the time being Victor Mete are the only recent London Knight defensemen in the NHL – this from a team that is praised for their superior player development.

And as a Canuck fan, following Olli Juolevi's development closely, I can tell you there's some panic setting in on that pick! Former Canuck Sami Salo has been called upon to save this high pick. Vancouver did not want to send him back to London for another year of "development".

Note: I've excluded late season acquisitions Jamie Oleksiak (Niagara) and Michael Del Zotto (London).

Exactly!

London has had assistant coaches come and go also - even Dale Hunter was gone for a year.

London Knights acquired OA D Shane Collins (recently played for the Prince George Cougars of the WHL) from the Barrie Colts in exchange for a 14th Rd pick. Knights now have 4 OAs. List Updated.

And when Dale left, his brother Marc took over the bench and the team had a very good season.
When Dale returned to the team brother Marc gave Dale control of the bench again and I don't believe that the final results are what they were hoping for. (I believe)

When it comes to development of NHL defenseman, you know exactly what you’re not getting from the Hunters!

Canucks send top prospect Juolevi back to Finland to find his game
By: Ryan Kennedy
http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/ar...-find-his-game.

The Vancouver Canucks picked defenseman Olli Juolevi fifth overall in the 2016 NHL draft, but his development has stalled after two seasons in North America. So they sent him home to Finland in the hopes he can get back on track.

OJ just wasn’t the same last year. Pretty sure his problem is in between the ears and not the Hunters.

Flint has 5 good OAs.

Flint will have to release/trade one OA immediately – and trade one by the OA deadline in January.

Two of their 97 are the teams’ leading point getters. Maurizio Colella (10 pts) and Ryan Moore (10 pts).

Kole Sherwood is coming off an 85 points season last year.

In net, OA Garret Forrest is having a great year winning 5 of his 7 games with 2.90 GAA and a .917 SV%

Luke Kirwin appears to be the odd man out having played only 2 games thus far.
