If he makes Nashville this will be a big blow for Oshawa.

In many ways the Tomasino trade reminds me of the Gabe Valardi and Robert Thomas deals. All three elite 18 year olds; in all three cases the NHL GMs told the OHL GMs there was a possibility their player may or may not return and all three OHL GMs deemed it too risky to wait another year. With Valardi and Thomas, the traders and sellers protected themselves by including multiple conditional picks.

However, in the Tomasino deal, the trade included no conditional picks – advantage seller. Knowing how desperately Rocco Tullio wanted Tomasino, that was shrewd negotiating by Joey Burke to insist on “no conditions or no deal”.

Give Rocco Tullio credit for having the stones to take on that risk at such a high unprotected price. It worked out perfectly for Niagara, but it may also still work out perfectly for Oshawa - or not.

You'd think that Hunt would've talked some sense into him.

I get the feeling that in Oshawa the owner gets, what the owner wants.
