This is 100% true. But you should not be surprised. Other players have put Niagara on their trade list as well. Despite what is often posted on this forum, Niagara is a preferred destination for many players.

My bad.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I doubt the condition ever pans out.

If it does I would guess we could trade him at the deadline next year for more than a fifth rounder anyways ...

All good.

Agree! Ice Dogs need one of each at the trade deadline.

Looking for the 2019 version of ďSam MileticĒ? Here are some of the more notable trade deadline deal difference-makers to keep an eye on. However, other than Kingston, Hamilton, and Mississauga - those other teams may not be sellers in January.

MORE EXPENSIVE
99 Jason Robertson - KGN
99 Ryan McLeod - MISS
99 Morgan Frost Ė SSM
99 Nick Suzuki Ė OS
LESS EXPENSIVE
98 Saigeon, Brandon Ė HAM (If he returns)
98 Brazeau, Justin - NB
98 Hancock, Kevin Ė OS

Also I think Brown thought that Singer still has not reached his potential and will likely return for an OA season.

You have to remember that while Lodnia makes us better, losing Singer made us worse. The net result is that we did improve, but not as much as some of you think.
Pretty sure Brown sees him as a Debrincat protegť.

You may be right saying they mightíve preferred just sending picks but after his suspension maybe they just wanted him out and thatís why he was involved Iím not taking anything away from singer but Iím not sure if itís that big of a loss

I agree that Singer was a sniper with his 26 goals offensively, but, defensively, in my opinion, his defensive play left a lot be be desired. There were many times in our own end that he was not very active. Trying not to be too negative but, that is the way that I viewed his play.

Lodnia's last game in Niagara last year I thought he was as dominant as any player I saw all year besides Kyrou. Niagara was all over Erie's other 3 lines but Lodnia's line was great all night. Singer is a sniper but Lodnia is on another level IMO. Even if Singer scores 90 total goals the next 2 years I'd still take Lodnia for this go for it year. I think he'll score 80+ points as long as he plays 55+ games and hound the puck in all 3 zones. I still can't get over this trade especially with the suspension.

42% of Singer's 48 points came on the PP last year - 13 of his 26 goals.

20% of Lodnia's 59 points came on the PP last year - only 5 of his 22 goals.

Yes, goals are goals. Points are points. But, I'll take a player that scores the majority of his goals/points 5v5 over a PP specialist any day. We have a few players who can slot into Singer's PP role and thrive just as well.
