Good for the Knights who have a history of fast-tracking prospects into the NHL. Like it or not, NOT all 20 OHL teams are equal. London is the preferred destination for most young players who aspire to a career in the NHL. The Knights pursued Stranges, and he only wanted to play in London. Stranges is friends with some current Knights--DeHart and Regula. If some other team calls London's bluff and selects him, Stranges just says 'no thanks', and trots off to Michigan. If that happens, the OHL loses a talented player to the NCAA.

The majority of the top end talent plays NCAA games so that they can end up in London... foregoing $100,000 scholarships to US colleges for the privilege Of riding buses in Ontario for $50 a week lol

London wins it all every couple of years ...

Not everyone wants to go the NCAA route. That bluff works both ways but it takes a team with moxxy to prove it. I almost thought Niagara would do that this year. Draft a "committed" player and take the picks in trade for next year's trade deadline.

Ice Dogs did t really have the extra pick to take the gamble. LK had Sudbury’s and peter’s early 2nd and therefore were better suited to take the gamble. They took a lot of commits I beileve more will be coming. I think you can only dress 416 year olds.

In order to "gamble" there has to be some measure of risk or chance. If nothing else, Dale Hunter has proven he does not have a gambling addition!

Just wondering why there is no official press release for the signing of Antonio Stranges on the London Knights website or the London Free Press.

Could it even be possible that the information regarding his signing was inadvertently leaked to quickly – and David Branch is investigating the obvious – draft collusion?
