I cannot imagine that Langdon or Schaeffer make it next year if we really aim to "go for it"?
Lochead a lock for me - so that's one OA What if Dhillon gets to sign with a AHL team and leaves? That will throw a spanner in the works! If that happens then can Incze carry us? Or would we look for an OA goalie? Or do we go after DiPietro (do we have the assets - if so he could take us to a final). If an OA goalie then how about: Fulcher (Hamilton Wells (Petes) If we went for an OA D then they have to be big! Options: Dineen (Sarnia) Day (Kingston) Stillman (Hamilton) Stanley (Kitchener) Gleason (Hamilton) But how many of these will be in AHL and therefore not available? For a F, has to be someone who can put it in the net consistently. If an OA, how about: Saigeon (Hamilton) Brazeau ( N Bay) McLeod (Missy) Sokolov (Barry) Pu (Kingston) Kyrous (Sarnia) Katchouk (SSM) But again, how many available as they move onto AHL teams? Or do we look at scoring 99's like Frost, Suzuki, Thomas, Strome, Ruzika, Studnicka? Do we have the picks and players to get what we need with losing the 2nds for Miletic? Gonna be an interesting year as we need at least 4 top-class players in my mind to work with Thomas, Maksimov and Jones. |

I would not be surprised to see Lochead earn himself an ELC in his OA year! 1 or possibly 2 of these players (Saigeon, Brazeau, and Dineen) would get the Ice Dogs a lot closer to a championship. In the Miletic trade we also received Stephan Halliday - who could turnout to be a more valuable trading asset than a 2024 and 2025 2nd round pick - that may or may not be able to be used in a trade next year. It will be interesting to see if the Ice Dogs can find those 4 players needed to work with Thomas, Maksimov, Jones and Tomasino before the trade deadline. *** Last edited by Blacksox; 04-14-2018 at 06:51 PM. |

Think the Niagara Ice Dogs will be able to pluck anyone from the Import draft?

If they don’t pony up for decent imports this year, they never will.

They’ll do what they usually do in the early rounds of the OHL draft pick the best available at whatever position they think needs the most attention going into the season (my guess is two forwards) and try everything they can to get them to report

Yes as they would usually try and do take the best available guy that will report
