Plays in all situations for Niagara and logs a ton of minutes on an unheralded defense. He's only 5'10. And he's not the world's most dynamic skater. But he plays with a ton of heart and grit. And he's very intelligent at both ends. If the skating keeps improving, he's going to draw NHL interest by the time his OHL career is over. 01 Billy Constantinou (5.11 / 173 lbs) • OHL PROSPECTS Top 10 Most Impressive 2001 Born Players Man can this kid make plays with the puck. Super impressed by his skill level and hands. Walks the line and does a great job keeping pucks in and making crisp clean passes up ice. And while his defensive game still has room to improve, he's made some big plays in his own end too. Outside of Mike Vukojevic, Constantinou has the highest potential of any 2001 defender in the OHL. I think this kid just oozes NHL potential. Constantinou is an explosive offensive defender who can lead the rush and push the pace. An effortless skater, Constantinou generates a ton of power and reaches top speed relatively quickly, allowing him to shoot out of the d-zone and start the breakout. Consistency in decision making was an issue. But I was impressed with his defensive zone commitment level, something that was supposed to be poor coming out of minor midget. He might have the highest ceiling of any defender on this list. OMG Blacksox, what a truly amazing job you are doing!
Finally, someone giving us an update on Icedog prospects. I asked Matt and DJ, also a sportswriter, awhile ago, why doesn't anyone ever keep us diehard fans informed about our draft prospects? Blacksox to the rescue. Matt and DJ, or even better, the Burkes need to hire this Blacksox!! Thank you so very much for a tremendous job.
