Last night's game was a serious reminder that if we do not pick up another shut down defender we will not be advancing to the Memorial Cup. No point in scoring 4 or 5 goals when we are letting the other team score one more than us. We need to focus on keeping the goals against down and protecting our leads. If Robertson had not been as good as he was last night we would for sure have lost that game. Joey...do your job and acquire another sound d/man.

I was happy when it was 5-2. In an interview after the game Billy admitted it was sloppy play and he was worried that the last PP would win.

Fun game to watch, but definitely not something to go too crazy about. We let off the gas and as soon as Saginaw caught wind that we letting up, they were all over us. When this team plays a 60 minute game, there will be few teams that can counter us. It's up to you Billy, you've got all the pieces...make em' play 60!

We won last night but it was one of those ugly wins and I agree with Aircanuk that our boys took their foot of the gas.
I have always believe that when a goal is scored against our team, every player made a mistake, even the goalie.

I do not like putting it all on the goalie but last night Dhillon appeared to be fighting the puck. He could not handle the puck and even had some trouble with hanging on to his stick.

He is a big part of our team this year, but, if I was running the bench, Dhillon would not have returned in goal for the third period.

I am not putting all the blame on our goalie as I hate blaming the goalie, but, the fumbling of the puck all night long just drove me nuts.

He did however (before someone jumps all over me) make some great saves to help us win the game.

Well said, every point! He was definitely fighting the puck and his movements looked almost panicked everytime they got in tight. It certainly wasn't his finest game, but he didn't blow out the place. We just know he can do better, and no one will be a tougher critic than Stevie himself.

Does any team ever play a full 60 minutes? Is there a fine line between letting up and running up the score? I for one will always choose "And Another One"

Robertson talks about the team facing adversity for the first time since he's been here in last night's game.

Good story angle on Paquette as well:

Yes, I get the "SCOREBOARD!" reference.

That said, even the best games will have points where you can do little more than scratch your heads. Last night's game had a lack of D on BOTH sides of the puck. It wasn't JUST the IceDogs who were lacking.

This is the type of game that I classify as being in the "The Hell With Defense, Let's Put On A Show!" file...in The Twilight Zone.

If they “let up” last night in the third I’m kinda happy they did because their goalie needed help last night and I think if they played the third the same way they played the second period they would’ve lost

I think another D would help (another D always helps everyone) but if they aren’t committed defensively and the goalie doesn’t make saves and control rebounds better they won’t win even with 2 other D
