Made me laugh, all the hype surrounding Akil Thomas - face on everything and branded as a superstar from day one - gets drafted in the second round. Meanwhile Phil Tomassino just quietly plays his game, doesn't even have his own line of clothing and doesn't get a break on the top line until Thomas is out with an injury - drafted in the first round. I hope the IceDogs never take that road with a player again. You can have more than one star at a time.

Two things: (1) the organization is a collection of people with varied opinions, all of whom are welcome to post as often as they do, and (2) media relations is not a part-time or co-op position (lots of US were watching the draft live because Tomassino was going first-round).

Likely these two factors may have deterred NHL teams and played some role in Billy C going undrafted this year.

1.The hockey analytics on BC show an extremely high turnover rate in the defensive zone.
2. BC is a good skater, but is unable to accelerate and generate high-end speed in his first 5 strides.

I like Constantinou, so I hope he uses this as motivation to improve on the area he needs to – and re-enters the draft next year a better player!
