Default Niagara IceDogs 2019-20 (Week 13)

Awful nauseous feeling for me even now that I’m at home ... terribly worried about his well being as he lost so much blood from the looks of it . Hope he’s ok

To the guy (I presume a London fan) sitting beside the London bench who chirped what was taking so long .... you are truly a disgusting excuse for a human being .... hang your head in shame tough guy

All class those knights fan ...

https://lfpress.com/sports/hockey/ju...ruesome-injury

Looks like it was London who decided to cancel or suggest the game be cancelled.

“When you’re making a decision like this, we looked at the injury to Tucker and how the players were dealing with it,” Knights associate GM Rob Simpson said. “We thought we should cancel it. Niagara’s players know him very well and we have players on our team who have played with him, too.

“I think it was the right thing to do. Sometimes, you have to look beyond a hockey game.”

In surgery. Stable. Ok, that’s a start. I’m still in shock.

I'm glad that the Ice Dogs have updated us so quickly. Glad he is stable. Hoping it isn't as bad as it appeared to be. I'm still sitting here in shock.

I was attending the game; unfortunately, I was sitting on the other side of the ice when the injury happened. I DO hope that Tynan is OK and can make a full recovery.

To the "fan" who was screaming at basically everyone: HOPEFULLY the Meridian Centre will perma-ban you from attending any more games here. Whoever yelled back at him to "shut up", that person will NEVER have to buy a drink in the arena ever again.

Also of note: I'm not sure exactly what went down in one of the sections behind the net, but I had heard that at least one person(and maybe two)fainted due to the aftermath of what happened-and personnel were headed to that section in quick order. Also, I've been to a lot of IceDogs games over the years...and the whole time Tynan was being tended to was about the quietest I've ever heard it get.

And props to Rod Mawhood for clearly explaining the matter to the fans in attendance.

A little more info.

It says, "The game was called after IceDogs general manager Joey Burke contacted commissioner David E. Branch."

Guess both teams had a say and had the best interest of the teams and fans in mind.

I have been involved in hockey for way too many years and have seen a lot of terrible incidents but, tonight was probably the worst, all time, for me; and I had a really, really too close look at the action, and the great work the medical staff from both teams did.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr.Tynan and Family
