Since someone asked if there could be a thread dedicated to Tynan(who suffered that horrific skate slash to his leg in last last night's aborted game against London), I figured we might as well set one up and not clog up the Week 13 thread.
The St. Catharines Standard has a write up on this in today's paper. It notes that the team's sales & social media director said in an e-mail that fears of there being a severed artery when surgery was done were thankfully proved to not be true. More than a few teams(including one of Niagara's rivals, Erie)sent along well-wishes on Twitter, as did half the IceDogs roster.

And if you put Tucker Tynan's name in on Twitter, you'll see how much support he's been getting. Even a team in The Q sent along well-wishes. So did the Leafs and Canucks.

Well, that is a relief. A laceration like that could easily have been fatal. Still very concerning, but it’s good that Tucker’s out of danger. Now is the time for all of us, fans and all the players, to rally behind Tucker, and smoke some teams.

Bill and Denise Burke stopped by our Great Holiday Food Drive to drop off a donation for Community Care.
CKTB's Tim Denis asking the Burke's about the condition of the 17 year old rookie goalie from Chicago. They say Tucker is doing well after undergoing emergency surgery, but has a long recovery ahead. Bill Burke says the skate cut through his leg to the bone and struck an artery, causing massive blood loss. Denise Burke says she has never had such a horrifying experience in her life but she commends the team's staff for their quick action helping Tucker until EMS arrived. The Burke's also say Tucker's mother flew in last night to be with her son. |

Josh Rosenzweig showed well in the few games he played earlier in the season. I don’t know if the Dogs are prepared to give Swiggy the net for the bulk of the year, though. I wonder if we will see Burke go out and get an experienced netminder to support Swiggy.. because I, without knowing, would assume Tucker Tynan is done for the year
