Players to watch for next season IMO are 03's Enright,Cato and Agostenlli. 02's Butler, Peters,Uberti, Snow and the potential return of Goalie Tucker Tynan from injury....I see lots of potential in all these players to really elevate their game by next season.

Ageee! All 8 of those players have a lot of potential. The IceDogs also have some unsigned 02s and O3s with similar upsides - hopefully we see them sign this year. A good 04 draft class would set up this team for a promising future.

The US born players projected as 1st round selection (with NCAA commitments) are unlikely to be drafted in the 1st rd. It will be a wasted pick for the team that does. These US players will be drafted in the later rounds, but teams such as London will draft them sooner than others because they can ($$$). We have seen them do this over and over - US born players that are 1st round talent drafted in later rounds and then decommit to play for them. The list is long.

US born players with NCAA commitments should be selected in a "Separate Draft" - so every OHL team can pick a few of these players without burning a OHL Priority Draft selection. It would certainly change the draft (especially for London). Then if that US player wants to only play for a specific team they can be traded before the start of the season for a set price (e.g. 2nd x 2 and 3rd x 2). It would be more equitable system - that would still allow US players to entire the OHL, which would appease Branch.

As for the IceDogs, it should be Adam Fantilli, if they can get an agreement with him prior to the draft to play with brother. Otherwise, select the next best available forward - and there are several good ones this year! If the IceDogs can get the 2nd or 3rd overall pick, they will definitely come away with an impact player to anchor their first line for years to come.

I’d be taking best player available even with an NCAA commitment I’ve been saying that all along worst case you trade him get picks for him and get a first next year that you didn’t have and have a chance to finish 7-8 assuming guys take a step forward next year. Best case you draft a very good player he reports your team hopefully takes a step forward and you still finish hopefully 7-8

...but what if the US born players doesn't want to play in the OHL and prefers the NCAA? Now you have deferred your 2nd overall pick this year for a 5th overall pick next year. That is a huge fail by any GM.
