Smile Season Tickets Renewal for 2023-24

Got an email about the renewal. Without looking up last year there may be a small price increase and I don't see a "save the hst" option.

Isn’t the early bird the “save the hst” option could be wrong

According to the email, while the words "save the HST" are not used, the early bird rate is essentially discounting the HST.

But, since Early Bird discount is up to May 31, I think I'll wait to see what happens in the draft and subsequent intent to report before committing funds to this mess again. The on ice product has been inferior, the team management incompetent and the prospect for improvement does not seem to be there.

A good indicator of the way things are headed will be to see if the GM goes trade happy and pisses away his picks again.

My advise, don't do anything you did last year. It was a perfect display of how to take a team on the upswing and drive it to the bottom of the standings.

My prediction: In the "weighted and randomized" draw for first overall pick, Niagara will pick fourth overall.

The one wild card to consider. If we do get the Memorial Cup then renewing will give you first chance at tickets.

There was a $10 increase in the seat cost, but the early renewal price is 13% cheaper and includes a gift card for team merchandise.

Speaking to my seat neighbours, they were going to cancel next year also but lamented going cold-turkey. We are going to split the tickets and each go to half the games next year.

The accepted wisdom is to increase your ticket prices with the 'anticipation' of a better season 'next year' when changes have been made to improve the product.
Absolutely NO evidence of this here; the increase will likely just persuade more STHs to not renew.

With much reluctance, I will be renewing. I have multiple grandchildren M&F ages 6-18 who really enjoy going to the games.
I took a straw poll among them and it was unanimous for renewal. I asked if they wanted to help fund the purchase (crickets), because I didn't really want to send this owner another dime until he smartened up and hired a real OHL calibre GM & coaching staff. But then my wife kicked in her 2 cents (guess how that turned out) and I am left to fund the difference. I really do enjoy the time with the grand kids at the games which really is priceless to see a new gen of hockey fans learn to enjoy the game the way I did going to TP and Blackhawk games. So I have ulterior motives for keeping my seats. As a STH from day 1, the last few years have been very disappointing and my renewal is not an endorsement of this ownership.

Tell me, did anyone actually scout these players DDD traded for, or did he just dish out $12/mo for a subscription to Elite Prospects.

Going to give it one more year and hopefully see a turn around, but doubting it.
