Default Possible expansion of relocation sites in the OHL

An opinion on a possible expansion or relocation, if it were to happen down the road. Pretty good hockey read.
Not sure if this link will work though.

Relocation might happen sooner than you think as I donít think Missy has a lease deal past this season and donít know if they could honestly stay in Missy another city has an arena big enough for the league

I agree with the writer that Cornwall would be a no brainer.

However, a couple of years ago, my wife and I made a trip to the east coast and we stayed over night in Cornwall to break up the driving.
We arrived early as we had planned on visiting the sports hall of fame which is linked to their arena. There was a fair go on next door at the time and the building was locked up tight.
One of the staff members was outside for a smoke break and after a short chat, he let us in and gave us a tour.

The topic of Junior hockey in Cornwall and we were informed by then, two staff members that it was their opinion that Junior A hockey (OHL) would never return to Cornwall. They were sadden by that though.
Apparently, the city fathers has no desire to enter the league.
Things could change though.

I just thought that this might be a good read at a time when things are pretty quiet.

Cornwall now has team in the FHL that draws not to bad for that league and a tier two team prob. would have to get permission from both clubs high unemployment might hinder them wonder if the Q would be a better fit. Brantford could be a temp home but the O would prob like to see plans for a new arena same with Chatham. I think Hamilton lease is up too. It looks like Canton New York might be a good choice but the University team their might object.

I think that was definitely a possibility but the failure that was the attendance at the World Juniors will definitely hurt a potential team there. It may have been a test of sorts for Branch and the league.

Plus Buffalo already has two teams playing out of the First Niagara Centre with the National Lacrosse League Buffalo Bandit's that draws over 10-thousand fans per game.

Let's not forget as well that Hamilton is likely to move to Burlington if everything plays out right with a new arena there.

The WJC wouldnít have any impact IMO if the league is smart anyways because like the tournament a jr team in a NHL rink doesnít work

Having said that though, I’m sure 123G, that the OHL was closely watching the attendance at the WJC in Buffalo a while back. Even if the attendance could have averaged 4,-5,000 I think the OHL would have been a lot more receptive to the idea of putting a franchise there.
The Pegulas probably would have paid for it..
