What’s wrong with Flint MI, besides high murder rate and the undrinkable water, it sounds like a wonderful place to grow up and play hockey ..... I don’t see the problem ....

I did and it was unbelievable to see how the city tried to cover this story up.

I’ll just say this

I would never drink any of the water from their water system if I lived there still, even if test results showed it was ok

The article says residents remain skeptical or test results ... can’t say I blame them for that

Not unlike Walkerton a few years back and don't forget the CBC report about lead in the GTA water supply, only 2 or 3 weeks ago. Also as far as coverups go how about hamilton city council and the sewage leak.

The pregame interview with Joey Burke (610 CKTB) was reassuring. He was asked if recent success would change the teams thinking heading into the trade deadline. JB explained that winning games is always the goal, but it will have no bearing on their plans going forward. His primary objective, this year, is to assemble the pieces for this franchise to be successful in 2 or 3 years – and challenge for a championship in multiple years.

He spoke to the development of their young players. How Tynan has exceeded their expectations – and the progress of the young defenseman. JB highlighting Enright, who has been playing top pairing minutes against other team’s top lines – and as a 16 year old has more than held his own. Also, how unfortunate the injury to Cato is - considering how well he was playing of late. Burke is excited to see what the future holds for this young d core, that will be together for the next 3 – 4 years.

Joey was asked when do trade talks ramp-up? He explained that those talks with GMs actually began last year (after being eliminated) – when the writing was on the wall for what would lie ahead for the IceDogs in 2019-2020. In recent weeks, his phone has been extremely busy discussing possible trades with interested teams. JB mentioned they will not give players away for anything less than the targeted player(s) and the specific picks they need to complete the rebuild properly - so their window of opportunity will span over a few year.

Sounds like a GM who is doing his homework – and has a definitive plan for what he believes will unfold. I was impressed with everything Joey Burke had to say today – because I was starting to get a little worried after their recent stretch of good hockey that plans might change. Elliot Price asked all the right questions today.
Here is the recap of the Joey Burke interview RSJ was referring to.

Matthew Struthers over 68 games is on pace for 57 points. He was traded for a 2nd, 3rd and 6th.

Lodnia over 68 games would be on pace for 115 points. His asking price has to be climbing to the 3- 2nds range.
