On December 2, Hockey Canada will announce the National U20 team’s selection camp roster for this year’s World Junior Hockey Championship.

Here is something IceDogs fan’s didn’t consider. Phil Tomasino not one of the 18 F invited?

Projecting Team Canada’s WJC selection camp roster
Sam Cosentino (November 22, 2019)

FORWARDS (18)
Akil Thomas (Niagara IceDogs): Can play centre or wing and that adaptability is necessary in a short tournament.

I have shared my thoughts on Tomasino not making this team this year (pretty much like Thomas last year). This is a tourney that features top 19 year olds with the occasional exceptional player.
Hunter has shown that he likes Thomas in the Russia series.
Tomasino will get the spot light next Christmas.

Just curious...
With the Junior camp being held in Oakville (just down the road) December 9th to 12th, I am wondering if we will see Hunter and selected London players along with Thomas here in Niagara for the London/Niagara game.
Ironically, that game is scheduled for Thursday December 12th.
Is this just a coincedence or the Hunter plan the whole camp with this in mind.
They could fly to Europe a day or so later.

Seems unlikely, but camp is close enough to home, that players cut, could theatrically return to their club teams to resume playing. Not sure if Hunter had that in mind when he selected the start-up date for camp, but it is different from the previous two years.

Coincidence or the plan.

They might be in attendance to watch on the 12th I donít think they would travel until the next day or even a few days after depending on pre tournament games

I agree about the travel.
Will Hunter be on the bench?
