Game Thread Kingston Frontenacs @ Niagara IceDogs - Friday, 2019.01.11 - 7pm

Niagara IceDogs:
2nd in the East after 39 games with 53 points, 23-9-7-0 or 0.679%
Scoring: Robertson 31-30, Jones 22-35, Maksimov 27-25
Goaltending: Dhillon 33GP 3.03GAA(10th) 0.909%(8th)

Kingston Frontenacs:
10th in the West after 40 games with 23 points, 11-28-1-0 or 0.288%
Scoring: Cranford 11-15, Constantinou 6-17, Burnie 2-16
Goaltending: Bonello 30GP 3.94GAA(- -) 0.885%(18th)

At the start of this season, Niagara topped Kingston 3-1. Since then the IceDogs have stacked their team while the Frontenacs have been dismantled. Hopefully one of our back-up tenders gets the nod for this game while the coach finds the right line-mates to start winning matches!

Gap to First Place: 9 points (1 Game in hand)

I’d go with the same lines that played the second and third with sbaraglia in net McGrath backing up this should be points night but they need to be careful it doesn’t turn into a trap game I’ll say 6-1 dogs

One of those rare moments when I am glad Billy Burke is the coach I guess.

oh and why would you play Sbaraglia when McGrath is available?

Iíd start him to just let him get some confidence backs after his last game I think him and McGrath will get games if I was Billy Iíd be giving Sbaraglia Kingston and Flint and McGrath Erie and Windsor for sure (and Iíd consider giving McGrath Hamilton as well) but I donít think thatís what Billy does

Thankfully, the sun came up today after that gut-wrenching loss. My thought are not so clouded or jaded this morning .

After, rewatching the game - and the disappointment subsided:

1. I feel terrible for Tomasino - you could just see the disappointment in himself after that play. That was even tougher for me to watch than the loss.

2. IceDogs have a legit chance to win it this year - and I look forward to buying some of you a beer .

3. We have not even come close to seeing the best of this group of players.

Tonight, Phil Tomasino is the game's 1st star!

10-1 tonight? Or 7-3 if Dhillon is in net.

I'd really like to see McGrath get the start and get him settled in ASAP.

This "should" be a easy win for the dogs. Won 8-0 a couple of weeks ago being short handed. Wouldn't mind seeing McGrath tonight. i'm thinking 6-2 Dogs.
