Default IceDogs New Lines

Well today's news creates an interesting problem for Billy. Line combos. Still missing Lodnia this week (and maybe Sopa so maybe a bit easier), but what options for when everyone is fit and flying? Two stronger lines with Thomas at wing or 3 lines and roll them? No way will they move Thomas down to the 3rd line (although his play at the moment probably warrants that) and Studnicka will only play line 1 or 2 is my guess also.

Here are some options for people to critique:

Castleman - Stuknicka - Lodnia
Tomasino - Thomas - Roberston
Maksimov - Jones - Philip

for 3 more balanced lines that would give a 4th of:

Sopa - Bruder/Uberti - Johnson/DeSimone

Which is a pretty decent 4th line considering how these guys have been playing of late. Tough to see some of these guys sit and maybe we can flip someone for another strong D?

As for 2 stronger lines, how about something like:

Thomas - Studnicka - Robertson
Maksimov - Jones - Lodnia (or Tomasino)
Philip (or Sopa) - Johnson - Tomasino (or Lodnia)

Uberti - Bruder - Sopa (or Philip)

People are going to be battling for ice time for sure.

FWIW, Jody Hull said on the radio yesterday that Sopa has been skating with the team and will play Thursday night.

1) Tomasino- Thomas-Robertson
2) Maksimov- Studnicka- Lodnia
3) Phillip- Jones- Sopa
4) Bruder- Johnson- Castleman

Brassard - Paquette
Bukac - Roberts
Hunter- Schaefer

The Dogs could use another defencemen and a 4th line winger with grit.

Castleman's going to figure in there somewhere.

If you looking at those combinations from the other end of the ice, it has got to be intimidating. Hopefully the coach can make them function as one.

Splitting up Jones (our 2nd top scorer behind Robertson) and Maksimov (who seem to have a telepathic knowledge for where each other is) is not something I would do.

I would swap Philip and Castleman. Philip is a faster skater but very little grit and often gives away the puck as a result. Castleman makes and receives difficult passes and has a quick release. Can't argue with any of the other choices.

Phillips not the same type of player since the season ending injury two years ago in Windsor especially going in the corners Castlemen probably the best wrist shot on the team .
