I believe that he gets traded at the deadline next season to help refill the draft cupboard. That is how the OHL works.

In Junior hockey, it is important to refill the cupboard - but is equally important to sell tickets (be competitive). The highly sought after player this year were the 99s and the 98 OAs - all likely in their final OHL season.

Next year, the mostly highly sought after players will be the 00s and 99 OAs. That will mean Akil Thomas and players like Paquette, Hunter, Roberts,... will be used to recoup picks.

Tomasino is an 01 - and will be traded the year after - so they have a star to market and recoup picks a year after Thomas.

In two years Tomasino will be one of the top 10 players in the CHL - and probably representing Canada at WJR. The return will still be very good.

The word out there at the deadline is that Tomasino or his agent or parent vetoed the Kingston trade, and we also read that he was at times a part of the Oshawa trade.

I like Tomasino and would be very happy to watch him play out his career in Niagara, but at the deadline, next season, he will be moved.

You can say you read it here first. Our young man will end up playing for Oshawa for their playoff run.
