The also have 7 thirds including the 2022 draft

Joey B will have to be very creative between now and the deadline.
I am not sure they have enough depth on the ice or on the bench for this year.

Either this year or next year, they have the picks to make all kinds of things happen.
For example, they could get DiPietro and still have lots in the cupboard

Donít be so sure about that if Windsor knows how many seconds they have they might ask more all of them

Very true, unlike buying a car - the salesman knows what you have in your wallet

Like any good business transaction,,, if the cost is way too high, one has to walk away and say goodbye.

Ice Dogs main rivals!

Oshawa will start the season, as a good team, but a younger team than Niagara. However, Oshawa has enough picks to add the players needed to make themselves older and better.

Ottawa also has some great talent, but are even younger. They definitely have enough picks, but would have to use them ALL to change the age demographics of the 67s to be a serious Mem-Cup contender.

The 67s roster’s normal cycle is next year, but it does not prevent them from going for broke – cash in everything they have and try to keep up with the moves NIAGARA an OSHAWA are going to make - and give it a shot this year.

NIAGARA
98s – 2
99s – 11 (4 NHL Drafted - Signed/Unsigned)
00s – 3 (1 NHL Drafted- Signed/Unsigned)
01s – 4 (2 Projected 2019 NHL Draft)

OSHAWA
98s - 4 + M.Brassard (NHL drafted unsigned OA)
99s - 7 (2 NHL Drafted- Signed/Unsigned)
00s – 8 (4 NHL Drafted- Signed/Unsigned)
01s – 2 (1 Projected 2019 NHL Draft)

OTTAWA
98s - 2
99s - 5 (3 NHL Drafted- Signed/Unsigned)
00s - 9 (2 NHL Drafted- Signed/Unsigned)
01s - 4 (2 Projected 2019 NHL Draft)

Current Dogs D

Moore 5'8
Schaefs & Roberts 5'9
Ham 5'10
Constantinou 6'
Howard & Hunter 6'3
Bukac 6'6

Av wt: 188.5

Oshawa D

Gross 6'1
Vallati & Brewer 6'2
Ennis & Allen 6'3
Franche, Blacker & Rupoli 6'4

Av wt: 198.6

So substantially taller and another 10 lbs average heavier. Yes, I know the game has changed - but you still have to battle on the boards and keep guys out of the blue paint in front of net.

Lets take at look at the D the last time the Dogs made a run at it:

Dunn & Lochead 6'
Siebenaler 6'1
Davis 6'2 (not that he played much!)
Wesley, Hayden Miku 6'3
Mantha 6'5

Av wt: 201.2

BIG difference for sure. Do we have the D to go for it? I remember in that old Dogs team thinking that Dunn looked small at 6' and 185 - now he would look big on our D!! I am not so sure we don't need to upgrade on D size-wise....?
