We could end up with a respectable pick or two if he does report to North Bay.
Niagara owns his brothers OHL rights and it is common knowledge that the brothers like playing together. This could be interesting.

They should draft him and demand a kings ransom for him. Worst case is they get the 5th overall pick the following year.

If North Bay use the 2020 #1 pick to draft Adam Fantilli on the hope that he signs, or with a plan to trade him or accept a deferred pick (2021 - 5th overall pick) the following year, that GMs should be lynched. North Bay better have an agreement in place prior to making that selection. This is definitely not the year to defer your first pick 4 spots later. This draft has other high-end impact player that will be OHL superstars not named Adam Fantilli!

Trading a “defected player” will never be harder to do then this year. As of the trade deadline, teams can only trade picks 4 years in advance now. Is the number of picks 3 x 2nd and 3 x 3rds for a defected player? Plus, North Bay has to acquire Luca Fantilli from Niagara. Luca has an NCAA commitment with University of Michigan and Adam will announce his commitment in August. They are setup to continue playing together.

Owning Luca’s OHL rights gives Niagara the OHL inside track, but if Niagara drafts Adam Fantilli, they better have this arranged prior to the draft. If they draft him in hopes of signing him – failing that, trying to trade him for picks and / or getting a deferred pick – what a monumental fail that will be, for which Chipperdog will be seen heading to the IceDogs office with a pitchfork!

The two brother are positioning themselves to continue playing together after high school (University of Michigan). They can go the USHL and NCAA route together. That is certainly one option.

The OHL (Niagara) is their other option. The answer to your question. Do the brothers want to play here? Was drafting Luca part of a plan or just a coincidence? We'll find out the answers on draft day. If Niagara drafts Adam, they will have done so knowing the two are going to sign with the IceDogs. I can't imagine any other reason why they would draft him otherwise.

Or if Adam is drafted by the Bay and Adam agrees to report to the Bay on condition. The condition that the Bay acquire the rights to the brother who belongs to Niagara. Niagara could receive higher value of draft pick or picks than would be the norm.

If JB drafts Fantilli and he comes out in the media after the draft and says he will “100% report” ... well of course I will believe in him ... we all will ...

I don’t think Niagara gets more/a higher pick for the brother if Adam goes to NB let’s not forget he was a U18 drafted guy and usually they aren’t that good (would the brother make it on an OHL roster without Adam?)
