Default League Attendance 2019-2020

Taking a look at the attendance so far this year, I was pleased to see that the Ice Dogs are fourth in overall home attendance with an average of 4552.

London still leads the league with 8863, Kitchener with 6467, Oshawa with 5056 make up the top three.

There are some great stats on this page. I figured out the top four attendance by looking at the map and when I scrolled down, all the attendance was laid out there.

That page doesn't appear to be up to date.
I find this site to be more accurate as far as average values go.

I like the home and away attendance combined, Niagara jumps to third (and when you factor how many times they play Missy and North Bay, that is significant)

Looking at the top Metropolitan populations in all of Canada, Kitchener-Waterloo is 10th, London,11th, St.Catharine's-Niagara 12th and Oshawa 14th. Combined with good Arena/facilities its not surprising that these are the top drawing Markets in the OHL. Ottawa & the GTA have huge populations but get over shadowed by NHL clubs in the city. ...Hamilton is large city but in old and oversized out dated facility. ...Sure a good club, promotion etc helps but looking at population of the best drawing cities I'm not too surprised.

Hamilton with the 3837 is decent. IMO they could average well over 5000 with a new fancy facility designed for junior hockey.

I often see posters here running down the Burkes because they aren't perfect or something. The Ice Dogs by any reasonable measure are a very successful franchise. The proof is in that attendance. Even in an off year we are near the top of the league.

Go Dogs!

I too have my beefs with the Burkes family from time to time, but, one has to give them credit for growing the game in Niagara.

Can’t deny what they’ve done in the board room (other than somehow getting caught paying players under the table) they’ve developed an incredible fan base here... I could do without the boy behind the bench .... For me the jury is still out on JB the GM ... some positives and some negatives for his performance .

And just think Branch thought a franchise wouldn’t work here .... how wrong was he !?
