The players and coaches can look to last year for the way back up. From Jan 28th to Feb. 23rd the IceDogs went winless in 12 games – and fans had written them off. The IceDogs responded by winning 9 of their final 11 games, including 7 in a row to close out the season - before some impressive playoff hockey.

The IceDogs have 15 games to regain the confidence of the Niagara fans – and use this adversity as motivation to come together as a team and begin playing their best hockey of the year (by winning at least 12 of those games).

The climb back up is “one game at a time” – and proper line combination would help too .

I tend to agree with you on the above message.

I look at our team since the deadline and they sort of remind me of Kingston last season. All season long, they were thought of as one of the best teams in the league and no one seemed to want to face them in the playoffs.
Now, comes the deadline and they are all in and bring in a kinds of new faces (really good players) and voila, their play starts to go downhill.
In the playoff, they get eliminated.

Just a thought on my part and hope that I am totally wrong here.

Every team has concernslast year never thought Hamilton was going to win the title even thou they loaded up there were concerns about their goaltending and everyone gave the title to the Sault even the mighty Knights stubbed a toe this weekend.

So much goes into building and eventually winning a championship.

So many intangibles, but coming together as a team at the right time is right up there. And that ultimately starts from the top with a trust of the ownership, management and coaching, then it trickles down to the players starting with the leadership group meaning the captain and assistants.

Let's hope over the course of the next 5 weeks, before the playoffs start, this group from the top down can find themselves, and build what it takes to be a championship team.

The time for all that was last year and the lead up to the trade deadline. When things were not clicking at the start of the season that was the first indication that despite plans, this was not Niagara's year.

It’s too bad they don’t have the stones like the Hunters did last year ... knew they weren’t good enough and traded away assets

Instead the Burke boys sold the farm to try and prop up a good team by adding 4 top players

Too bad they didn’t add a fifth to play between the pipes

My prediction is we don’t make it to the ECF... which is fine with me as I don’t want to pay $60 a game lol

This is not a post for or against yours – just a piggyback on your mention of the Hunters. The last two years, those two geniuses have been anything but that.

Their 1st round picks Lucas Rowe and Luke Evangelista both appear to heading down the same path . The best player they drafted in the last two year was US de-commit Antonio Stranges. And yet, people not in the know (and London fans), will praise the Hunters for drafting such a highly skilled talent in the 2nd round.

Granted, their return for trading away their star players last year was good, in retrospect, if London had instead add 2 or 3 players to a line-up that already had Robert Thomas, Cliff Pu, Max Jones, Sam Miletic, Alex Formenton, Liam Foudy, Alex Rugula, Evan Bouchard and Joseph Raaymakers, they too could have beaten SSM - as Hamilton proved possible (with Robert Thomas the primary reason why).

As for this year, anything short of an OHL championship (and they do have a shot) will be seen as a colossal blunder by the Hunter geniuses. They inexplicitly left themselves with a vault load of currency and no cards to use them ??? . If those two clowns had properly planned this out – they could have assembled an untouchable team similar to the likes of 2016.
