In the draft (Europe or OHL) we need some big, solid D, ideally this year to give them a year experience for a push in 2018/19 season.
Will Lochead is tough as nails, what he doesn't have in height he more than makes up for in sheer strength. Watch the way he flattens opposition the next game you see.

Totally agree - love the way this kid played last season and this. Great pickup for us as a free-agent. But he would need to be back as an overager if we go for it in 2 years. Is he good enough for that in a season where we want to make it to a Mem Cup place? Would we want 3 over-agers that may be more skilled? Not sure.

Will also be interesting to see if we EVER manage to get any of our top American kids to report to us. Siebs was fantastic. Will we get any more - or will it only be the Kitchener/London's of this world that get them to report. We have some to-class 1998, 1999 and 2000 US picks that would be fantastic to get her for 2 yrs time...

We had Haydon last year and I think Lochead is a better all round player so ya, I can see him with us as our defensive OA. Niagara has to start landing those top US and EU players. I think we will draft well this year in the Priority Selection, the U18 Yardsale, and the Import Draft. The Ice Dogs have to invest in maintaining that relationship not necessarily with a scout but with someone well versed in relations who will meet regularly with the player and family and agents.

Castleman with another lead-off goal, shame he didn't give us another cheeseburger, I could have used one of them tomorrow.

The lines are getting juggled from week to week, not sure which line is considerd the "top line". Last night Thomas line-mates were Machala and Langdon. While Castleman was with Brack and Maskimov.... who has the better line-mates?

I think whatever line Thomas gets put on could be considered the "top line" because he is on it, not the other way around. But, for arguments sake, Thomas was listed on the third line last night while Castleman was on the second.
Well with the #2 and #3 for points Corneil and Jones as your usual linemates I am going to guess that would be the top line.

Castleman at #5 usually plays with guys farther down the list.

Kid is either exceeding expectations, or is really that good... Still not 100% sure... But leaning towards THAT good...

He's been my 'nice surprise' this season... Along with Singer, and Philip ( and god could we use that boy back )... How many teams can say they brought in a line of rookies that continually finds ways to impress... But this likely won't happen again until the next rebuild at the earliest. Nice to see it happen occasionally.

I miss lots of points completely My point was even though there isn't a shining star line, the combination of Jones and Corneil is better to get goals and assists than the guys Castleman plays with.

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. Whoever plays with Corneil and Jones is on the top line for Niagara.
