I agree he shouldn’t be there but he will be until we get 2 guys back

That is all that was intended

Plus we know full well that every time a goal is scored against us, every player on the ice usually made a mistake, including the goalie.
I wouldn’t say every player is to blame after every goal (they are majority of the time) but sometimes it’s only the fault of one or two guys

As a unit out there, they are all guilty of one thing or another.

With Ham,Roberts & Hunter out of the line up the Dogs are stuck sticking Brady Johnson ( a solid bottom 6 forward) to play Defense, making the 3rd/ 4th lines weaker by replacing him with 16 year old rookies (Uberti, De Simone). Howard is a rookie call-up that is getting regular shifts whether he's ready or not and 16 yr old rookie Moore is getting tons of Ice time that probably wasn't planned for. Bukac is new to the Ice Dogs & OHL and adapting and Schaffer is an undersized OA D-man that will probably be replaced at some point with an impact OA. ….My point is I think if the D- core was healthy last night they probably would have won. That being said The Dogs are still in need of at least 1 maybe 2 top pairing shut down defense-man to stabilize the defense and take a legit run at the OHL. ..... Also need a top 6 left hand shot to play with Jones and Maksimov. .....Sopa has played well with Thomas & Lodnia so far. ...I think the team realistically needs 3-4 big pieces to be dominant OHL contenders but probably only have the budget for 2 maybe 3. Unless they want to mortgage their future away and trade all 3 big roster chips (Moore, Tomasino & Billy C). ... In any case I would expect to see a very different looking D-core after Christmas then the one we saw this weekend.

Just to correct you here... Howard is not a call up, he made the team out of camp. Granted im.sure hes seeing more minutes than anyone expected. And he hasnt been the weakest link on the back end nor has Moore... im sure alot here can agree who the weak link is

My buddy watched the game he said if the Dogs would have scored on the two man advantage after they took the lead it might have been a different game plus he said Barrie got a couple lucky bounces on a couple of their goals.

Wow. After reading this article...
http://www.bpsportsniagara.ca/the-ri...ot-for-johnny/
...and reading the comments in here, I’m not sure we’re talking about the same player...lol.
Seems the coach isn’t on the same page as the forum folk.

I will agree that, right now, defence is a real sore spot on a “go for it” team (same for the Leafs but that’s another topic) so if they’re serious about this run they will need to upgrade.

So far I’m really impressed by Moore. He handles himself well for a rookie and has been nowhere near a defensive liability like...oh say...maybe a Ryan Merkley is.

They will have to wait until the team is healthy and then evaluate they’re needs from there. We’re going to have to be patient right now.

Agreed!

Dhillon's stats so far this year:

Game Date Min SH SAV GA SO GAA SAV% W L OTL SOL
NIAG @ MISS 2018-09-23 60:00 36 30 6 0 6.00 0.833 1 0 0 0
KGN @ NIAG 2018-09-28 60:00 30 29 1 0 1.00 0.967 1 0 0 0
SBY @ NIAG 2018-10-04 58:46 21 18 3 0 3.06 0.857 0 1 0 0
NIAG @ MISS 2018-10-05 43:51 25 24 1 0 1.37 0.960 0 0 1 0
BAR @ NIAG 2018-10-11 60:00 39 37 2 0 2.00 0.949 1 0 0 0
NIAG @ BAR 2018-10-13 62:44 29 23 6 0 5.74 0.793 0 0 1 0

It's pretty evident that with the exception of a 2 game stretch of good games that every other game he essentially craps the bed. I know its early but the Dogs will need more consistent goaltending if they intend to challenge for the OHL championship.

To be fair to Stevie, Incze's stats are the same. Horrible game... Great game... Horrible Game... Great game...

Dhillon did not play badly in this game.
SBY @ NIAG 2018-10-04 58:46 21 18 3 0 3.06 0.857 0 1 0 0

He gave up 3 goals: This first goal went off Pilon’s back skate, popped up and went into the net. The second goal was a PP goal that Murray deflected in from directly in front of the net. The third goal was scored at the tail end of a PP –and again Murray was standing directly in front of Dhillon with a textbook screen.

Check out those 3 goals.
http://ontariohockeyleague.com/video...8-sby-3-niag-2

The first game and definitely his last game were sub-par. Until Saturday’s game, Dhillon played 4 good games, giving the IceDogs a chance to win each one of those games.
