The Welland Flatwater course looks a lot different today thanks to the Pan Am Games. A much improved facility today.

Yes, agree, the North course have received I don't know how many millions of dollars. Much needed boost to the local economy.

Much more $'S will be injected here in Niagara over the next 4 years, economic impact should effect us all in a positive manner.

We are very fortunate.

I am certain you all know that the father of your beloved Hamilton boys was instrumental in Championing this successful bid for the Canada Summer Games

The Federal government and Province government kick in a lot of the money. Remember, these games were happening somewhere, your tax dollars were paying for it whether it was in Sudbury or Ottawa.

When this is all over, there will be a new stadium at Brock and upgrades to facilities all over the Region. Places that you might even care about.
And this will cost us large.....then most of the venues will become redundant after the fact.

Explain what you mean?

How are sports fields etc. "redundant".

This is the whole point. The Feds and Province pump in millions upgrading existing facilities and apparently a new stadium at Brock. People will be using these places far into the future. Brock actually needs a stadium of some sort. Most Universities in Ontario have one.

I really do not know how anyone can be a fan of live sporting events like the Ice Dogs and not want this to happen.

Government money will be spent on this, whether you like it or not.
I would much rather it be spent here than in Sudbury or elsewhere.
