Yeah, well, I can't see this team lasting any more than 5 games against Peterborough. Valuable experience gained by our Pups, but really nothing more. PBO is an experienced, talented team just like the Dogs were not so long ago. It's really weird seeing it from the other side now. To the Dogs' credit, they've battled hard, and been in both games, but I don't see the Dogs pulling any more than a one-game upset in this series. If the Dogs could have won Game 1, maybe they put a scare into the Petes. I think we know what the officiating is going to be like; it's been no surprise so far. But, having said that, the Dogs HAVE TO SCORE on their power plays.

I realize that it's common practice but I really wish that Bell would stop pulling the goaltender in favour of the extra attacker. It doesn't work with this team. Including tonight's empty net goal, our record this season is 11 empty net goals against and 3 goals scored with the extra man. I honestly think they would be better off keeping the G in the net and just increase the push. At this stage, the IceDogs aren't a strong puck possession team. Too easily knocked off the puck or stripped of the puck which leads to most of the ENG's.

I listened to a bit of the game on the radio in the second period when the Dogs got those questionable penalties .

I'm sorry but our radio guys are embarrassing . Even if it's a bad penalty against us. Don't whine like a baby about it. It's embarrassing. With commentary like they provide ... u aren't moving up the ladder to do PBP any more than the O in their careers . It's bordering on unlistenable

Actually I didn't have a lot of love for our radio guys before I became an Ice Dogs fan. Definitely found them to be big the homerism and whiney like you mentioned. Now that I'm Dogs fan I guess I don't really mind all their **** but you're right they should really tone it down. But there are far worse out there believe you me!

They ride the bus with the team and stay in the same hotel. So they are fans of the team and big time Homer's. So what! If they were negative and down on the team all the time would Ice Dog fans listen?

“Twelve guys got a chance to experience playoff hockey for the first time,” he said. “We learned a lot, so I’m happy. Everything is about learning.”

OHL playoff class is in session and lessons learned.

GAME 1
LESSON: “You learn the intensity cranks up, you learn details get more finite,” said Bell.

GAME 2
“I really liked our intensity and our tenacity,” IceDogs head coach Dave Bell said. “They played hard, but they also took seven penalties, and that's too many.”

LESSON: “So obviously tonight's lesson is 'Stay out of the penalty box. We're getting better, which is good, and that's what the playoffs are all about is learning,” Bell said.

Niagara is looking forward to playing at home and feeding off the energy of a supportive fan base that Bell hails as the team's “sixth man.”

“We're extremely thankful and grateful for our fans and they push our guys on,” he said. “They're an awesome crowd to play in front of.”

This is what typically happens when a #8 faces a #1. Short, 4-or-5 game lessons.

I'd be shocked if it's sold out.

Typically our opening round games even when we had good teams, do not sell out. Not a lot of lead time for them to sell to groups.

Of course if they offer the $2 ticket deal to students again that will help. Just as long as they stick them in the retractables ...

I get that the ride the us with them ...

There's a difference between broadcasting with a home bias tone ... and broadcasting with the constant whining about every penalty the Dogs get or do not get called in their favour. It's truly embarrassing...

as a hardcore fan it makes me not even want to listen to them to be honest with u .. the colour guy seems to be far worse than the PBP guy. But once the colour guy starts whining the PBP guy piles on ...
