Would love to see Steinwold (http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=285321) in the Black White and Red...

Joel Mazzili ( http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=361002 ), and Lucas Theriault (http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=313072), both would be interesting to get a look at, did either report last summer? Was sidelined and unable to get any looks at camp. This year promises to be different. Both looked to have had strong seasons elsewhere.

I don't think that we'll be seeing Jack Randl ( http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=276181 ), and Brady Smith (http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=283920), by all accounts both are set on NCAA. But magic has happened before. lol

Might take an act of god (or an NHL General Manager) to pry Joshua Norris ( http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=273954 ) out of the paws of the Michigan Wolverines, but something tells me that he would be a difference maker.

As much as I love this team, I'm not sure the IceDogs have the 'juice' to break any of the top guys away from their university commitments.

I have reservations about the U18 draft. I like that we're going to be taking on a minimum of 4 players ( more if we take a goalie ), who will come to camp and compete for spots... Heck we might even find a diamond in the rough like Lochead. Be interesting to watch what their strategy is in this iteration of the Draft... Do they draft the Big Physical D that we so badly need. Maybe a rugged forward who can bang and crash, and stand up for his teammates? Maybe a goalie, someone to give Stephen Dhillon some solid backup. I haven't given up on Incze like some, but I think he did not have the best year, and did not do the most he could with the limited opportunities given to him. Perhaps bringing some fresh blood in to compete with him for a spot next season will light a fire under him.

For a hockey nerd like me, I get excited any time I get to see new players, with new stats, and any information I can get... So this is me, waiting impatiently for first pick tomorrow... At 7pm, I'll be at my computer waiting to see who our new guys are... And I will look forward to camp at the end of summer.

Although we have not heard much during the season I believe that Joey Burke said one of the big reasons for Mr MacLeod getting the job as Head Scout was his proven ability to recruit. I am sure he has kept in close contact with these kids but did so quietly. Also the team also hired a Director pf Player Development Mr Hubbert who stated that he would be in constant contact with all of our prospects. London never made a big deal until the player was signing and my guess is that the new management team of the Ice Dogs are doing the same. It would not surprise me one bit to see several of these guys at camp next year

Well I would definitely welcome the chance to get a look at some of these American kids. And I love a good magic show. Not so much the Disappearing Acts, but I do enjoy when they make talent appear out of thin air...

I think the U18 draft is just an attempt to get kids to stay in midget longer rather than going to Jr. B. I really don't think the OHL teams are putting much effort into it.

I'm pretty sure Theriault was in camp last Fall. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

U18 Draft is done... Not sure we got what we need... But we got what we got... And I guess that's good enough (or will have to be)...

Here's the haul Hockey Nerds...

U18 Draft
01. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=415743 - Abdul Abouzeeni
02. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=418689 - Jaleel Adams
03. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=418702 - Riley Eberhardt
04. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=504194 - Brendan Guignard
05. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=313263 - Mathieu Dokis-Dupuis

Interested in seeing Adams, Abouzeeni, and Guignard... Ah hell, who am I kidding, I want to see them all come in to camp, and compete, and maybe taking the spot of someone who feels they're a lock...
