No chance the IceDogs would have handcuffed themselves by promising to trade him to Oshawa next year. The plan will be to create a massive bidding war for Tomasino - an elite player with still another OHL year left. Similar to Ty Dellandria this year, but unfortunately for Flint, no one wants to go there.

Keep in mind IceDog fans, Tomasino is only a 01, so the IceDogs could actually wait until the 2021 deadline – and then clean someone out of players and picks for a player that will put some Mem-Cup hopeful over the top!

In that case, it would give all of us another 2 years to enjoy this special talent .

Good points... but ...

I think the Dogs’ draft pick cupboard is so barren they will have to trade him during next season ... that is when his value will be at his highest cuz he will have potentially one more season left.

And there will be no reason to have such a good player on the Dogs next year when there is no hope in hell of winning anything .

If he is not traded next season that will be a massive mistake by the Dogs’ IMO.

Quick glance at the Schedule and the Dogs have 52 points with 30 games remaining. 2 against Guelph, 2 against the Soo and 1 more against Ottawa. Aside from that I think the other teams should be beatable *should* ....24-6 gets them to 100 points, will they hit 100 pts !? Hard to catch Ottawa but 100 pts

Just about everyone has a NTC these days. Most are willing to waive it if they like the team they are going to.

Yea you are right hopefully he likes wherever it is but they could run into him just enjoying being here to the point where he doesn’t want to move period we’ll see next year though

Tomasino has a strong chance to be a first round draft pick in the NHL and actually make it to the show. If a team wants him to help reach a championship, he would be playing on a loaded team and have the ability to shine (again) in a focused environment. I doubt a player is going to turn down an opportunity like that.
