Just as an interesting side note to the Joey Burke Head Coach story: Marty Williamson expected to be named Head Coach of the Q's Saint John Sea Dogs
Happy Marty's got a new gig, even happier it's not in the OHL I'd rather not have an OHL team come in to the MC with extra motivation!

Where did you read about Marty going to Saint John? Speculation says he's becoming Brock's head coach. Should be interesting.

Funny, the SeaDogs news release indicates they are seeking a coach to develop their young roster. Not sure Williamson is the person for that task, wonder what the state of their draft cupboard is?

The reporting source is Craig Eagles @Eags37 who broadcasts QMJHL games for Rogers. He cited two unnamed sources that Williamson was being considered along with Jon Goyens, the head coach of the Lac St-Louis Lions.

Whew. I'm glad someone else found something corroborating the Williamson-to-St.John story.I was beginning to think it was 'fake news' I'm watching this Summer Junior Showcase on TSN now. Am I wrong in thinking this was in St.Catharines recently? I'm looking at a virtually empty arena wherever this is - it's in the States somewhere. Is this something you would pay a few loonies to see? Would you want it to be free? I find myself going to the IceDogs' scrimmages as soon as they open up in August/September, so I would be all over this!

Meh didn't help Jeff Brown's team when he visited.

I believe we'll see former Niagara IceDogs Coach/GM Marty Williamson take the vacant Brock University job here shortly. #OHL

Troy Smith's name keeps coming up in coaching vacancys. We'll see him either get the HC job in Saginaw or an associate job in Niagara. #OHL

Sounds like they will add an associate coach next week. Someone who Billy can lean on when the going gets tough.

If he was truly ready for the position then Billy shouldn't need an assistant coach to lean on when the going gets tough, IMHO
