It is way too soon to know for sure but let's see what everyone thinks about the Ice Dog's chances this year. That's right my first poll of the season!

A large number of odds makers have the IceDogs in the 4-6 range but there is also a fair number predicting a tenth place finish this year. The drama of a new head coach didn't help the team's stock but perhaps if a worthy assistant coach is hired that will quell some of the naysayers. I look forward to a similar poll at the halfway point!

Mississauga will be loaded again. Peterborough will be strong as will Oshawa. Ottawa should be better with their new coach and staff in place and a great young defence. Those should be the top 4 IMO. After that there are lots of questions

Kingston - new coach but with solid goaltending could challenge for top 3
North Bay - boring and no scoring - Butler magic wearing off
Hamilton - should improve over last year
Barrie - hear their import is special but there is not much else there
Sudbury - looks like an absolute mess and headed for dead last

That leaves our Ice Dogs. If Dhillon can have another great year I see us fighting it out with Kingston and North Bay for 6-8. Barrie and Sudbury likely out of the playoff spot

I think the Eastern Conference will improve ( can't get worse from last year lol ! ) but the Dogs are still in a weak division. Missy should easily win the Central. The Dogs battle it out for 7th in Conference against Barrie, North Bay, and Sudbury

I don't see Oshawa and Ottawa both being that good (meaning top 4) Oshawa lost Brodeur who was big in net for them and Lazarev was streaky at best for Ottawa last year and will have to be better this year IMO. I think Hamilton will take a top 4 spot which means one more spot would be up for grabs in the top 4 which is where things get interesting because i could see one of the Dogs Gens or 67s getting that spot. As for the bottom 3 Sudbury Barrie North bay

I think it all will hinge on how much of a 'distraction' the players allow the new coaches to be. If the Dogs come ready to work right from exhibition game #1, people will be surprised how much talent really is there. You'll be amazed how quickly the coaches' last names will cease to be a storyline. A 4-1 start, a 3-2 start, and it will disappear.

I took 3rd.

Based on what I saw in the last 20 games last year.
