The price tag for an elite one year rental (98)!

Jim Parker, Windsor Star Jim Parker, Windsor Star

The rebuild is a necessary evil in junior hockey (except for London) and Tuesday’s trade of defenceman Logan Stanley to the Kitchener Rangers for five conditional draft picks was a necessary step in that process. It’s time to start putting the pieces in place for another possible run in two or three years.

If he fails to crack Winnipeg’s lineup and is returned to junior, the Spitfires will receive Kitchener’s second-round pick in 2023 and 2024, its third-round pick in 2023, its fourth-round pick in 2020 and its 15th-round pick in 2018.

Right now, Rychel said there are no talks to move other veteran players, but teams will no doubt come knocking at his door as the season goes on in search.

Windsor has 13 OA players – 3 with NHL contracts.

If Akil Thomas is going to be an elite player in the OHL, I believe this is the year he's going to do it. Castleman will also be up there, I have high hopes for Matt Philip as well. The IceDogs are still a young team, and there's a wide spectrum of possibilities here. I don't think this team will have a lot of trouble scoring goals, it's preventing them that will determine how far they go this winter.

We can scratch Laishram off the Windsor list.
Laishram will be going to University and McCool has requested a trade to a team closer to home. School is also an option for him.

Don't care who we get, but they need to have some size and toughness. We lack both.

I have been saying this from day one. We need two overagers who are tough and hard-nosed but not take dumb penalties that would hurt the team

I think one more overage player is enough if it's on D

Really don't see any point in bringing in an overage D unless they're moving someone from the existing group for futures. They have 8 guys back there already who are either going to make the team or have played in the league and all can play again next year in their go for it year. That's not even figuring in guys from past drafts who may be ready.

Roberts, Schaefer, Lochead, MacPherson, Hunter, Hamm, Constantinou, Somerville

Just my opinion but wouldn't be surprised if Somerville isn't on the team and Roberts helps but I don't think that D is good enough to get higher than 7th and I would think the goal would be 4th or 5th
