In answer to the first concept, did you know the Professional Hockey Player's Association (aka the union for AHL and ECHL is located in Niagara Falls, Ontario?

In answer to the second concept they only need 10 players ~ 40% to hold a meeting to certify a union and take a vote? So yeah, with 10 players being promised all sorts of benefits the union can call a meeting and only needs two more players to vote ~ 50% and congrats you have a union. Also if the employer tries to obstruct the formation of a union they can be fined.

So stop looking for one ring-leader, this is an organized union operating in Niagara's backyard.
They can turn around and stop paying and stop offering scholarships to future players. While some players might opt out most would stay IMO. Players would no longer burn their NCAA eligibility by simply playing. Essentially they could run the team the same as a junior b team with much better players. Players could try and get drafted and still have NCAA to fall back on. There really wouldn't be a better option for most at the end of the day.

I’m very familiar with the Professional Hockey Player's Association but the meeting was with fraudster Randy Gumbley. Just google his name, not good - it seems improbable that a group of 22 IceDogs, not one met with him.
Not true. Several franchises have unions at some locations but not all.

Well, that would make for interesting league! However, my post was not about the formation of unions – that’s why I said that is another discussion - interesting one though.

I was merely redirecting the discussion back to my initial post, which was: ohl Insiders tweeted out that IceDog players met with Randy Gumbley – but since ohl insider is unable to revealed a name or how these 22 players were “poorly treated”, I have hard time believing this story is true, especially if it involves Gumbley.

I just can’t believe 22 of these current IceDog players would meet with him under any circumstances.

He is one interesting dude!
