I think the Burkes are going to cruise for 3-4 years, not worry about taking a run, keep attendance the focus and not winning but making the playoffs on the front burner. Maybe after a few years of filling the cupboard, 80-85% attendance, then they might venture into the Memorial cup waters again. I don't see them rushing anywhere right now.

Hey weren't you leaving? If you're going to stick around we will be forced to cancel the farewell party.

Based on the trades made this year, this notion or preception that the Ice Dogs do not have the assets required to make impactful changes next year is simply not true.

Here are the assets required to trade for 2 high scoring OA players:

Kole Sherwood
16/17 Flint Firebirds 60-G 33-G 52-A 85-PTS
17 Kitchener Rangers 15-G 9-G 7-A 16-PTS

…was traded to Kitchener for:
<> KIT 2nd 2019
<> SSM 2nd 2020
<> KIT 3rd 2021
<> KIT 5th 2020

Ice Dogs could have made that trade!

Ryan Moore
16/17 Flint Firebirds 68-GP 39-G 51-A 90-PTS
17 Flint/Hamilton 21-GP 8-G 13-A 21-PTS

…was traded to Hamilton (along with N. Caamano) for:
<> Connor Roberts
<> HAM 2 2019
<> SBY 3 2019
<> HAM 3 2020

If you trade off Caamano (98) for Roberts that leaves at the very most a 2nd and two 3rd for OA Ryan Moore.

Ice Dogs could have made that trade!

Total cost for two high-scoring OAs was three 2nd, three 3rd and a 5th.

The Ice Dogs have:
2018 2nd, 4th, 5th,…
2019 2nd, 4th, 5th,…
2020 3rd, 5th….
2021 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th….
2022 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th….

If Ian Martin, a 2001 with a lot up-side, continues to play and develop – he could be a very valuable asset next year.

What a great trade for Hamilton!

Along with Ryan Moore, the Bulldogs acquired a Nicholas Caamano for Connor Roberts whose lack of OHL success (3rd pick 2016) thus far is a mirror image of Hayden McCool (6th pick 2013).

Roberts is struggling in his 2nd year - to this point he has not demonstrated the ability of 1st round selection. Roberts has scored one more point than rookie Andrew Bruder. Bruder has 7 points .

Hamilton fans are ecstatic over this trade – and that usually tells you a lot! That was the same reaction from Ice Dogs fans when McCool was traded.

And just like that – Hamilton is now the front runners to win the Eastern Conference!

Interesting deal for Hamilton but according to Flint fans Moore could go off his game and quit if things go bad but fans in Hamilton seem not to care either way less than three thousands fans last home game on a Saturday night.

Leafs have announced Timothy Liljegren will play for Sweden in the World Juniors. Doubt he's coming here after but stranger things have happened. Here's hoping. Their biggest weakness right now is a #1 d. His addition would be a big help. Don't think it would make them a contender but would at least give them a shot at winning a round or 2.

Here's the interesting thing. Sweden is holding their camp in St. Catharines as well at the Seymour-Hannah Centre. You just never know.

Sherwood’s not exactly a high scoring OA, check his PO stats

Oh sorry Stinkulid, I forgot you are not very good with numbers! You see 85 points is very good – and so is 33 goals. OHL fans call those type of players -“high scoring”.

Stinknoulli, I’m starting to see signs that you might be ADHD . You have to read from the top and work your way down
