That is definitely rubbing it in a little, and obviously getting our opponents and rightfully so, upset.
I think the sad truth of the matter is that our special teams are still not wholly functional and so - they play. I have yet to see the coach from an opposing team raise the white flag and skate their third and fourth lines and merely go through the motions with their top two, so why would the winning team be expected to?

Rubbing what in someone has to be out there so why not your top guys this isnít little kid hockey if you are going to get upset if a team keeps scoring stop them and letís not forget they havenít been together for long and practices are good but the best way to get reps is in a game. If it gets opponents upsets here an idea for them stop going to the box when the game is outta reach

OHL in 2022: when the game gets more than four goals ahead they turn off the score clock and give everyone a memorial cup.

You can run up the score all you want, just be ready when the chickens come home to roost. Hockey Karma is a nasty bitch of a dog. Let's revisit this another time when we run up the score and we end up steaming one of our stars off the boards because some teenager with a short fuse lost his temper. I watched it happen one too many times to get behind this.

See I wouldnít want to run up the score for this reason except in certain situations (teams canít handle being embarrassed) but I donít think that was the case with us except on Thursday which is the certain situation in this case if you are going to be idiots and try and hurt our guys Iím going to send my top guys out there to keep scoring

Because nobody ever comes back from a deficit when you coast for the final period?

[soapbox mode on]

If you are a star in the league, you have to realize you constantly have a series of concentric circles painted on your back. If you think they magically appear only when the score differential is greater, then you are kidding yourself. Talent means skating with your head up, having situational awareness to know that there are headhunters out there who aren't going to play in the NHL and who's only claim to fame may be the footnote that they sidelined you for a game or a season. This is the reality of the game from September to May.

[soapbox mode off]

Go Dogs Go!

We saw what happened late in the game today when the game was out of reach and Billy put his (emmmm first PP unit on the ice)

The Hamilton bench and players on the ice took big time exception to it and I for one, could not blame Hamilton for getting their noses out of joint.

Don't wake up the mean dog...

Yes, I made the roadie to Hamilton and saw the play. Here's my question: What exactly was the justification for Lodnia getting a penalty shot? It didn't seem like a clean breakaway attempt to me; I honestly thought Hamilton would be getting a minor on that play.
