![]() Niagara IceDogs: 2nd in the East after 4 games with 6 points, 3-1-0-0 or 0.750% Scoring: Jones 3-3, Maksimov 3-3, Lodnia 3-2 Goaltending: Incze 2GP, 2.56GAA(9th), 0.917%(8th) Sudbury Wolves: 4th in the East after 5 games with 6 points, 3-2-0-0 or 0.600% Scoring: Byfield 3-3, Bulitka 2-3, Levin 2-2 Goaltending: Luukkonen 2GP, 1.96GAA(4th), 0.929%(4th) Sudbury starts their three game road run in Niagara this Thursday night. With the first overall draft pick, Quentin Byfield has been a game-changer for the Wolves and Finnish goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen may be a brick house that the IceDogs will have to huff and puff against. This Sudbury team may not have all the assets they need but the wolf is indeed hungry. |

If our very nice players take Sudbury too lightly, like they do too often, we, the fans will most likely go home unhappy.

2 OUT OF 3 AIN’T BAD
TOM MCCONNELL SHOW (AUDIO) with Coach Burke: A recap of last weekend’s games – and a look ahead to this week. http://www.iheartradio.ca/610cktb/au...play=1.8472386 <>Along with some other topics, Burke discuss the current goaltending situation and the early attention Moore has drawn from scouts. No mention of Ham returning yet. WOLFPACK BACK! The Sudbury Wolves joined the OHL in 1972. They have never won an OHL championship and currently own the longest drought in the OHL - since the London Knights broke their 40-year drought in 2005. Sudbury twice made it to the OHL finals - 1976 and 2007. Offensively, the wolves have a few players/pests that the IceDogs will need to stamp out! Although, the Wolves feature an elite goaltender in Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (Sabres 2nd rd pick 2018 draft), their defense has had it problems to this point in the season. WOLVES' KEY PLAYERS: 98 Pilon, Drake (OA - PEST 1) 98 Pilon, Darian (OA - PEST 2) 99 Carson, Macauley (Culkin) 99 Bulitka, Shane (2nd in team scoring) 99 Levin, David (OHL 2015 Priority Draft #1 Overall) 00 Nizhnikov, Kirill (OHL 2017 Priority Draft #7 Overall) 01 Murray, Blake (Central Scouting “C” Rating) 02 Byfield, Quinton (OHL 2018 Priority Draft #1 Overall - future superstar!) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 98 Candela, Cole (VAN / Unsigned OA) 00 Malik, Zack (IMPORT) INJURED 01 Ross, Liam (Central Scouting “C” Rating) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 99 Luukkonen, Ukko-Pekka – IMPORT (BUFF) |
