If anyone thinks Thomas will not be on the first line then you have not been watching this team since he got there. My guess is Lodnia will fit in with Thomas as he is a natural scorer and would really compliment Akil

Any thoughts?
Burke sees Lodnia, who turns 19 later this month, making an impact right away. “Absolutely, he’s going to come into our top six,” he said. “Potentially, say he’s on a line with Akil Thomas and Philip Tomasino, that would be pretty exciting to watch and they play at a pace a lot of teams wouldn’t be able to handle.”

Notice he said a line rather than the "top" line.

It’s going to be the second line at least to start the year they have no reason to take Jones off the top line yet

It is interesting to think what you want as your centre on your "top line"? Jones and Thomas are such different players. Both scored similar points last year (Thomas 81; Jones79), with arguably more opportunities being given to Thomas in that he played most of the year with Miletic. In the playoffs Jones had 10 pts and Thomas 6 and Jones was probably their best player across those 10 games.

Jones is much more of a 200 ft player and is very defensively minded. Better face-off guy than Thomas and more of a play-maker than goal-scorer. Needs to shoot more and up his skating.

Thomas is a much better skater, more dynamic, faster, shoots more, very skilful and exciting to watch. But his defensive works need a lot more effort and to me he looks more like someone who would excel on the wing.

If you put together Jones with Maksimov and Thomas with Lodnia, then which is the "top line"? Where does Tomasino fit in? If you bring in another star winger, who would they play with?

I think you have 2 top lines that you play depending on what situation you are in. But I do think that we have a top 5 named there that are impressive, regardless of who plays together.

I have a feeling that Jones is going to have a monster year.
