The IceDogs aren't making a run this year so it would only be sentimental reasons that would keep him on the team. Any team that is going for it this year would be wise to start bidding now before the price goes up. Legit we should be able to get a pair of seconds or a second and a 1999 born.

Terrible logic

U trade him for best offer who cares what year the picks are. They are assets for the future. Mantha is a fully depleted resource after this year. Useless to us.

If JB has your type of logic this organization is in a world of hurt !

You're right, it doesn't really matter the year or the place - these picks are currency to buy what you need with. The more you have the more you can play with. With teams on different cycles, a second place in three years could be more valuable to a team that is rebuilding then or going for it in 5. Great point strohs!

Thanks for posting that.

Excellent for Mantha ... his trade value is improving with every game.

Dhillon getting very good ink too and deservedly so, much to the chagrin of über critical Dogs777. He's the Dogs MVP IMHO this year, even if he has 'poor rebound control'...

In fairness to 777, Dhillon did give up a few goals early in the season by rebounding pucks so opposing players could have a second try. Experience has been a good teacher since then!

How do you figure they would be in a world of hurt by getting someone who you know has made it and can make an impact in 2-3 years when this team is ready to go for instead of picks that may or may not be a decent player

Because your logic is to hold onto the OA unless the deal is earth shatteringly good. It may not be. But he's gotta be moved for the best deal they can get.

Because there is a certain market for OA's and it's usually picks with a marginal player.

Not very often a team is going to trade a young decent player with upside and picks for an OA at the deadline.
