Default Looking Towards 2020

I think we will see Akil Thomas get traded next year. The Dogs should have a really young team in 2019-20. This is where trading all those draft picks away is really going to bite down hard. There are going to be a lot of spaces on the depth chart opening up. If I were Joey Burke, assuming heís still the GM come September, Iíd be thinking about winning from the net out. With that in mind, the Dogsí starting goaltender is going to have to be OK with facing a lot of rubber often. Our team is going to be one that relies on defensive play, because the Dogs will not have the kind of offensive depth weíve seen this past year.
Offence or defence, what needs improvement most of all is team discipline. Discipline, because the PK was atrocious this year. So many times this season, a good offensive push was nullified by a stupid penalty(Iím looking at you, 13!). The Dogs are going to rely on defensive play a lot more next year, for they will not have the guns up front that they have in the past few years. Itís going to be a lot of get a 1-0, 2-1, 3-1 lead, and hold on.

Paquette is by far their most valuable OA. They have to trade him to recoup some picks. I can see Roberts instead of Paquette.

Depends if you want someone mobile or shutdown. I'd say they are both for sale and the one who fetches more goes. Or you sell them each off and take a rental for a year courtesy of a 5th round pick.

If they keep McGrath itíll cost them another 5th round pick. When they traded for him they sent a conditional 5th if he plays his OA year.

They will keep the two best goalies, and if one is an OA he shouldn't count on playing more than half the games (just sayin').
