I wouldn't mind seeing Sopa on a line that isn't the 4th as well. That kid can shoot and hustle (great skater). Small but not that easy to knock off the puck.

In all seriousness is he the best import we have ever drafted ourselves?

I guess we did draft Mikulovich ... he was a very solid defenseman.

I’d have to say that Sopa is the best forward import we have ever drafted.

He’s actually a treat to watch....if also like to see him get some better icetime ... but I guess that’s the problem he is going to run into on a deep team.

I know the bulldogs were awful last night but Sopa was really good and the one goal he scored was an absolute laser beam of a shot.

Im going to hold steadfast on my original suggestion Studnicka and Robertson should be paired up.

Red is right - perhaps they dont play well together, but the IceDogs need to at least try it but try it for a few weeks or a month not a game or two and abandon it if does not click immediately.

Maksimov and Jones have great chemistry, but that took time to develop. Two high-end players like Studnicka and Robertson one a playmaker, the other a scorer - given some time together could develop into something really special. They have the talent to be one the most dangerous and dynamic duos we have ever seen in Niagara!

Like Chipperdog said any line combination would have worked against Hamilton yesterday. The real test is going to be in the playoffs. The IceDogs need to start putting together line combinations that can be successful in the playoffs.

With the depth the IceDogs have, putting the two of them together would not compromise the strength of the other 2 lines. The other two will also be capable and worthy of the title #1 line.

My suggestion, for a playoff run

<>Robertson-Studnicka-Sopa
<>Phillips-Jones-Maksimov
<>Lodnia-Thomas-Tomasino
<>Castleman-Bruder-Johnson

However, if the coaches are able to come up with lines that, in the end, work and win playoff games thats all that matters. I just want the IceDogs to win!

I would insert Sopa into the top 9 and move Philip to the 4th line. Sopa has grit, skill, speed and is competitive.

Robertson-Thomas-Sopa
Lodnia-Jones-Maksimov
Castleman-Studnicka-Tomasino
Philip-Bruder-Johnson

I like the way you have the lines set up, but I would make just one change (Studnicka and Thomas switch spots) - and I probably like this better than what I originally posted for lines.
