Funny that they don?t address the elephant in the room - the USA teams.

Maybe they will decide on that once the US election is over .

I simply do not see the US Canada border opening any time soon ... next summer anyone ?

“We’re being cautiously optimistic as we move forward,” said Meridian Centre general manager Jeff Dixon, explaining that assumptions had to made about allowable capacity to come up with a 2021 operating budget.

The centre is hopeful it can host Niagara IceDogs games at 25 per cent capacity in January and February and be able to add other live events at 50 per cent capacity in March and April. Its plan would see the centre back to regular business levels in the last two quarters of the year.

25% looks to be the attendance number that is being considered.

There are three other elephants, ticket prices, attendance numbers, and player contact. Will there be a price reduction for the shorter series? How many people allowed in the facility and do we keep our assigned seats but wear masks? Will players be allowed to body check?

Came in just now.

Quote:
Good morning Season Ticket Holders,

When we were shut down on March 13, 2020, not in a million years would we ever have imagined that the world would still be fighting this pandemic over 7 months later. But as devastating as it’s been, the one ray of sunshine through all of the chaos has been the fact that the bond of our community has been reinforced now more than ever. Neighbours and friends all doing what we can to help each other get through this.

On that note, we want to thank each and every one of you for your continued, unwavering support of our team. Without it, we would not have survived. We’re not out of the woods yet, but our league continues to work diligently with all levels of government and Public Health to create a plan that will allow us the fastest and safest route to reopening. As always, when more information becomes available, we will continue to share it with you.

With that being said, the Ontario Hockey League has announced an updated timeline on its Return to Play plan for the 2020-21 season. Under the new timelines, OHL Training Camps are scheduled to commence on Saturday, January 23 in preparation for the 2020-21 Regular Season that will feature a 40-game schedule running from Thursday, February 4 through Saturday, May 8. Teams will play primarily against opponents in their geographic region in an effort to reduce travel in consideration of the health and safety of all players and staff. Details regarding the structure of team alignment will be made available upon release of the 2020-21 OHL Regular Season schedule.

We cannot thank you enough for your patience as we await our 2020-21 schedule. At this point, we know that there will be an altered number of games. Once we have our complete schedule with finalized number of games to be played, we will be providing you with an option to either carry your credits forward or receive a refund, but our sincerest hope is that you choose to apply those credits towards 2021 playoff tickets and/or toward your season tickets for the 2021-22 season. For those of you who are on the $100 down payment plan, we have extended the balance owing from November 1st to January 1st.

Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, we can’t thank you enough for your continued support. This has been the most challenging of times for us, and your patronage has literally meant the difference between demise and survival.

From everyone here at the Niagara IceDogs, all our very best, and Go Dogs Go!

Bill and Denise Burke
