Fletch told me at the awards banquet that he had already been asked to come back as an OA and play forward. I would think that they need him back for toughness in a big time way. Who else can play that role? Desousa is willing to go but I have yet to see him win a bout.
I think MacIssac is the odd man out when it comes to the OA spots. (Day, Bergy and Fletch). The backend will be solid but goaltending will be a big question mark along with who is going to score goals? Aggy, Friesen, Bergy and Desousa are going to step up huge in that department. I expect Merrett to take a big step backward in production since he won't be getting set up by Swift and Caputi. You never know who will develop and come up big but I think the Dogs are going to be hard pressed to light the lamp this year. Boy are we in need of some bigger forwards. Maisonnville--he was at camp as a d-man but is really small..I personally think he would be outstanding as a forward. From what I understand, the people that matter are really high on him....

wow overagers last year were Swifty, Foreman, Dahm.
now we have Fletcher coming bacl as an overager? big time step down in class. yesi know th value of getting a physical presence in the line up but that's the only good aspect of the game and he's taking up an overager spot. i'd rather give a young kid experience than have Fletcher back as an overager

These posts crack me up. I guess in most of your minds if you don't score goals you're worthless and have no value. I'll take a team with good cohesiveness over just talent anyday. Last year should stand as an example. Beginning of the season, very high expectations, many superstars and as far as I'm concerned they underachieved. Leadership was given to the talent and it didn't work (the only place they led the youth was to the bars and parties). This is where Fletch will pay dividends, he's well respected by his fellow teammates and shows good leadership on and off the ice. He doesn't possess the natural talent so he hits the gym and works like a dog in practice and will go to any teammates side in a clutch situation. I'm looking forward to see him as a power forward, I think he might surprise some of us.
