Default Former IceDog D-Ham to the Leafs?

The NHL season is at the Quarter-pole, and the trade rumours start heating up surrounding the slow-starting teams.
One of the rumours heating up the quickest is Dougie Hamilton being shipped out to Toronto. I, being a Leaf fan, would love to see D-Ham in the Blue-and-White. I realize this is NHL-related stuff on an OHL forum, but I still think it worthy, D-Ham being an alumnus here I'm not sure why D-Ham hasn't been able to stick in the NHL as yet; this would already be his 3rd(?) NHL team. And I know how we all love to see our Dogs succeed in the show!

Not that I have any inside track on this, but it's the usual thing where you start hearing the same rumour repeatedly, and you wonder if there's not some truth to it..
Stay tuned..

The numbers below might be a reason why he might be on the trading block. I liked Hamilton here in Niagara but, I thought that his game became softer after he picked up that long suspension for a very hard hit. In my opinion, that suspension sort of changed his game.
His stats for the past three years. first column is games played, goals, assists, total points and the last one is his plus/minus.

2014-15 Boston Bruins NHL 72 10 32 42 41 -3
2015-16 Calgary Flames NHL 82 12 31 43 46 -14
2016-17 Calgary Flames NHL 24 2 10 12 22 -3

D-Ham is a puck-mover, simply using his skating and vision to move the puck up-ice, keep it in the offensive zone, and collect assists He isn't a crusher; he's more of a classic offensive defenceman.

Gallant is Vegas?

Gallant was fired after a road game and apparently, there is a picture of him somewhere standing outside of the rink alone and waiting for a taxi.
Could they not have waited until they got back home?

Glenn Healey said on the Fan 590 this morning that he believes that the staff has now lost the room as many players are very unhappy with this firing.

Not in the show he isn't.

I hope the Leafs pass. Not a big fan of Dougie's game and his contract is bad IMO. He hasn't exactly been a dressing room favorite by most accounts.

I don't think Hamilton is the type of D-man the Leafs need right now. They should be looking into a bigger stay at home move guys out from in front of the net kind of guy. Besides we would probably have to take Freddy as part of any deal, and the Leafs don't have room for him.

At this point the leafs might take anyone who can play as a top 4 D put him with Gardiner tell jake he's the stay at home Dman and figure it out from there my only problem with the possible move is what would the leafs have to give up
