Yes, they are probably just as bad as the others (whole OHL problem) |

No, newer teams already had safeguards in place to prevent this. |

Reluctant yes vote. I fear the worse. I hope they put an end to this horror.

There needs to be absolute scorched-earth, zero tolerance about this. Right here and now, from now on. Fines large enough to kill a franchise. But the problem is, we only and always find out about these things long after the fact. Long after the players involved are long-gone from junior hockey.
So, what do you do then? Call it a ‘snitch line’ if you want: I want there to be a number a player, coach or manager can call for the investigation of claims like this. I mean, FFS, there are teams that have banned ‘rookie dinners’! So surely banning all initiation-type activities can be done. I love hockey, but I hate hockey culture. |

This won’t be very long: I am just curious as to how long it is going to take for those responsible in the Sarnia Sting hazing scandal( and I’m sure it wasn’t just Sarnia) to be brought to justice? I’m sure it’s like the saying about roaches: for every one you see, there are 10 others you don’t). The near-complete lack of prosecution for these snakes in Junior hockey, unlike Graham James, who was and is a child predator(is he still alive?) is why these horrific hazing incidents keep happening. The Sarnia incident mentioned in The Hockey News’ Ken Campbell’s article occurred during the 2002-03 season. Dan Carcillo was on that team, to give you some context. Surely there are still NHLers today who were on that Sting team at that time.
Prosecution of the perpetrators of these crimes is nearly impossible without co-operation from not only players at the time, but coaches, management, and OHL Leadership. Such as David Branch, or whoever was running the show at that time. It is very important that the accused be found, charged and made examples of, so that treatment of Junior hockey players NEVER happens again. |
