![]() The Niagara IceDogs now sit ninth in the Eastern Conference, still with eight points and a 0.444 average. In the goals against category, they are middle of the pack, but in goals for, they are second from last. Only one home game this week as Niagara plays host to our American neighbours, the Erie Otters who happen to be dead last in the Western Conference. Thankfully, the authorities have seen fit to provide an exemption for the team to visit, now I wonder what it would take to convince them to bring over U.S. pizza and wings? |

A LOOK BACK TO WEEK 4…
Game 8 Bulldogs edge IceDogs https://www.bpsportsniagara.com/bulldogs-edge-icedogs/ Game 9 Burke annoyed after IceDogs loss https://www.bpsportsniagara.com/burk...-icedogs-loss/ A LOOK AHEAD TO WEEK 5… Through the first four weeks, the young IceDogs have been a competitive and entertaining team. A lot of rookies getting primetime minutes means the IceDogs are committed to developing a top 4 team for next season (22-23) and building towards a possible championship run in 23-24. SPOTLIGHT ON…ICEDOGS SCORING LEADERS 1. Gushchin, Danil <> 9GP – 8G – 5A – 13pts 2. Butler, Cameron <> 9GP – 3G – 8A – 11pts 3. Uberti, Jake <> 9GP – 3G – 6A – 9pts 4. Betts, Dakota <> 7GP – 2G – 5A – 7pts 5.*Castle, Aidan <> 9GP – 3G – 2A – 5pts 6.*Fimis, Pano <> 9GP – 2G – 3A – 5pts 7.*Cooke, Brice <> 9GP – 3G – 1A – 4pts 8. Peters, Cameron <> 9GP – 3G – 1A – 4pts 9. Enright, Isaac <> 7GP – 1G – 3A – 4pts 10. Cato, Landon <> 9GP – 0G – 4A – 4pts 11.*Dionicio, Rodwin <> 9GP – 0G – 4A – 4pts 12.*Roobroeck, Dylan <> 7GP – 0G – 3A – 3pts *04-05 rookies IceDogs W/L Record vs BARRIE, HAMILTON, KINGSTON: 2-3-0 IceDogs W/L Record vs the REST of the EAST: 2-2-0 *Barrie has not yet separated themselves from the “Rest of the East”, but they will as soon as Marty acquires a top-flite goalie. Game 10 THURSDAY @ Niagara vs Erie OHLPROSPECT (Brock Otten) OUTLOOK: The Erie Otters are going to score a boatload of goals. I expect the OA trio of Sellan, D'Amato, and Hoffman to really light the league on fire. I also expect Connor Lockhart and Colby Saganiuk to have big years. There is serious depth to this forward unit as a whole, but the defense is highly suspect. Spencer Sova is going to be expected to be the team's top defender. Veteran netminder Aidan Campbell is going to see a ton of rubber. I'm also not sure if he is a good enough goaltender to truly steal games for Erie on a consistent basis. I think a lot of things would have to go right for Erie to end up in the Top 5 of the Conference. However, I do think that a lot of things would have to go wrong for them to end up outside of the playoffs. Game 11 FRIDAY @ Sudbury TEAM CORE OA-01 L.Ross OA-01 M.Weeks OA-01 K.Manikis 02 J.Thompson (Drafted–SIGNED) 02 N.Ribau 02 N.DeGrazia 03 C.Stillman (Drafted-1st Rd) 03 L.McCallum +04s D.Goyette; D.Kocha; E.Konyen +05s DRAFT: Quentin Musty; Alex Assadourian BLACKSOX OUTLOOK: With the addition of US Quentin Musty and return of Chase Stillman, Sudbury has the foundation of a good young team. However, the Wolves only have two 2nd and three 3rds over the next 4 years - so they'll have to be sellers (D – Jack Thompson) and not buyers at the trade deadline. OHLPROSPECT (Brock Otten) OUTLOOK: The Sudbury Wolves' forward group are young, but talented. Look for David Goyette, Kocha Delic, and Evan Konyen to be key contributors in their draft eligible seasons. The New Jersey Devils are looking for Chase Stillman to be an offensive leader. And all eyes are on first overall pick Quentin Musty. This team will have the ability to score goals. But can they keep them out of their net? I not only have concerns over their goaltending, but also their defensive depth behind Jack Thompson, one the best defenseman in the league, and Liam Ross. If Sudbury struggles to play consistently, I would look for them to move Jack Thompson for a heavy bounty. Game 12 SUNDAY @ Mississauga (2:00pm) A matinee re-match in an empty arena and no TV broadcast. Here are a collection of the PP goals scored against the IceDogs over the past two weekends - all very similar formations, all very similar goals. In fact, the IceDogs’ second unit used a similar formation – Fimis and Castle on their off-wings and a big body (Roobroeck) in front of the net. Fimis (and Cato) combined to score a PP goal much like Barrie, Oshawa, Peterborough and Hamilton scored. With all the offensive firepower available to the first PP unit, unsure why they don’t setup like the second PP unit - two snipers like Butler and Gushchin on their off-wings (and Mason Howard in front of the net). *** Last edited by Blacksox; 11-03-2021 at 10:15 PM. |

I"ll second that! .
On the PP, our first unit should have Gushchin and Butler on their off wings , ready for the one timer.. Billy Burke is totally not using Butler properly.. A player with that kind of shot should not be in front of net! Now Howard would be a great idea to use in front of net on the PP.. Come on Billy Burke, thats hockey 101,, your best shooter belongs on the off wing on the PP |

Hi great fans of our Niagara Ice Dogs. Former ten year season ticket holder here wondering where you guys post or comment or exchange tickets for the ice dogs. Now that buying tickets on Kijiji is no longer viable, not sure where you can sell, buy or exchange. Thanks and go dogs go!!!

Didn’t see the first or second last home game then the first was a lot better then both those periods IMO (that’s not saying much though) we can’t give up 4-5 goals a game and expect to win our offence isn’t that good hope Betts can play cause they lost Howard again tonight
