I didn't see last night's game but a quick review of the stats showed goaltending was not the issue (0.944), and the IceDogs made 35 shots. Trouble is they allowed 54 shots which means there was limited defending. Given the state of their defense there needs to be a team focus on the back end, not just two.

We were in the car last night listening to the game and when Missy scored their second goal, both announcers jumped on our goalie pretty good for allowing "a goal that should have never gone in"
Is the end near for both guys being that management might have heard those comments. Just curious

How many shots would there have been if they hadn’t worked on defense this week lol

When was it, 2 or 3 seasons ago we gave up a ton of shots each game.

The coaching staff needs to teach the players that a team commitment to defense is the key to future victory. Scoring goals in a rebuild year is secondary to preventing them. So far I have watched lesser teams dominate Niagara's zone while novice defenders struggle to clear the puck and experienced forwards hover at the blueline.

Also those who were hoping for Sopa/Tomasino/Castleman will have to live with Thomas instead of Sopa. Tynan is in net.

First period observations

Yes I see why Roberts was chosen to play over Hunter ... so he could provide a perfect screen for the Storm’s first goal ...

Way to let the kids play BB

First line PP all five are forwards all five played 1:56 of the first PP of the game lol I smell a short handed goal allowed tonight ...

Loved Howard’s old school hit in front of the net on Gogolev.

BTW Gogolev had a great first period.

1-0 GUE
16-11 shots for GUE

Entertaining first period ...
